Sequel: Love's Curtain Call

Acting On Love

Sweeping Perfection

The next day in acting, I felt a little calmer when Ville exchanged glances with me. But I couldn't help but wish he wouldn't. I was becoming so paranoid that people would find out. I still hadn't said another word to Lisa about it - it didn't seem like the sort of subject she was comfortable with talking about.

When class came to an end, I began to pack as slowly as possible. We still hadn't spoken to each other since we were in the lift together, and I was anxious to find out where we were.

"Can Kristen stay behind for a few moments - I just need to talk to you for a few minutes."

The moment he'd said this, my heart bounced into gear, making me smile. I looked over my shoulder - he was leaning against the stage, looking at the floor. I couldn't help but notice the slight smile on his fine lips.

The class gradually filed out, and eventually it was just me and Ville left in the theatre. He folded his arms and slowly walked towards me. He stopped at a safe distance. I started to wonder what was wrong.

"That was...close. Yesterday," he commented, looking at the floor.

"Yeah. Obviously the lift wasn't the best place...for that."

"No, it wasn't," he smiled.

"So...where does this leave us?"

He sighed and unfolded his arms. "It didn't change anything, Kristen. Well, not my feelings, at least."

"Why do I feel like there's a 'but...' coming up?"

He smiled. "Kristen, don't worry...we just need to be more careful. That's all."

"Oh," this had taken me by surprise - I would have thought he'd want to do something more drastic; more sensible.

He smiled again, and gripped both of the armrests of the chair I was sitting on with his hands. My heartbeat quickly picked up.

"Don't look so scared," he laughed, as he slowly leaned in closer towards me.

"I'm not," I whispered, as his lips were inches from mine.

In a slow movement, his lips swept across mine. My hands found their way round his neck, through his curly, perfect hair. I felt the kiss grow stronger as both our lips craved the other's. His lips pushed me back into the chair, before he finally broke the kiss. We were both gasping for air.

"Come on," he smiled, taking my hand, and pulling me from the chair. "Your friends will wonder where you are if you're late for lunch..."

The beauty of the moment dimmed from this remark. He hadn't expected me to have told anyone...immediately I felt guilty. This was our secret, after all. Not mine and Lisa's.

He let go of my hand as we reached the door of the theatre, and he stopped. His head leaned down to reach mine. I put a hand on his chest.

"No-one's around..." he whispered, closing the gap between us.

I allowed myself to give in to temptation for a few seconds, before I put more pressure on his chest. He stepped back.

"Bye, Ville," I said, reaching for the handle. I knew the moment we stepped outside we'd be forced to act like two people who barely acknowledged the existence of each other.

"Kristen," he said, stroking my cheek once, before he watched me leave the theatre.

I didn't look back. I wasn't going to do anything that would jeopardise what we had - whatever that was.

Sorry for the few days wait - I've had to update other stories (which I had been...um, neglecting a little).
