Dear Janet,
We are still walking, our uniform has started to feel extremely heavy, the other night we stopped at a small town for a drink, loads of girls were staring at us, apparently they love a man in uniform, but they will have to keep wanting, as you are the only girl for me. One of the men told me today that there are rats as big as cats in the trenches, everyone thinks he has gone mad! how ridiculous of course there are not.
