Dear Wilhelm,

I’m glad you’re still alive but why do you want to be a part of such a horrible thing? Yes, mother was hiding Jews but I did not tell you because you will tell your officer and we would be arrested. I do trust you but don’t they search mail at your camp? Violence is not always the answer. Sometimes you can just talk about things and they can be solved that way. How do you know father will be okay? How can you make such empty promises? Why should I trust you? Maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s in our physical being to0? Yes, our house did get bombed. We are now living in Frau Haff’s home. It smells like a cat here. Maybe I will. Maybe I will disobey him Wilhelm.

Lots of love,
Ada
