Serena: A Whole New Breed of Vampire

Serena’s POV:

<<< 7 Days later >>>

It has been a week and life has become more normal, well as normal as a house full of vampires and a vampire siren can be. I’m currently sitting in the art class I originally dropped because of all the Bellary drama, but now that it is over I picked it back up. My father’s body was never found, so a memorial service was held in his honor all of Forks and most of La Push had showed up. I was angry because he deserved something more substantial, but I could only do so much. As it turns out my father requested I be emancipated if I was at least 16 so now I’m my own legal adult, no guardian needed. I still live with Edward and his family, but have my father’s house under my name and I refuse to sell it.

I sat in class painting an abstract painting it is a lot of purples and blues, and in the middle is a strip of bright topaz the exact color of Edward’s eyes. It took me days to get the color correct but as I looked at the painting it was perfect. I sat my brush down and hear the bell most of the kids bolt from the room, but I sat back scanning the painting. My hippie of a teacher Ms. Lillian walked up behind me her long braid swishing softly as she shakes her head and patted my back softly before she mumbled “It is beautiful. One of the best I’ve ever seen Serena you have talent stick with it darling” I smiled at her and nodded as glanced at her over my shoulder. I leaned down and signed my name little bitty in the topaz in the bottom right corner as I sat up strong marble arms locked around my waist

I sighed and leaned back in Edward’s arms while mumbling “Hi baby. Do you like it?” I looked to see his eyes, the same exact color as the painting and I couldn't help but feel proud of myself for capturing the burning gold that are his eyes.

“It is sublime love. Do you need to clean up?” he asked while kissing my neck softly

I was going to say yes, but Ms. Lillian beat me to it “Serena, darling go ahead and leave it is the Friday before prom I’m sure you have somewhere you would like to be” she called from the back room that held all of the supplies

“Thank you Ms. Lillian” I said cheerily standing up and grabbing my empty bag. The teachers were smarter than they looked they gave us no homework for over the weekend because of prom.

“Ready?’ Edward mumbled tugging me close to his chilly body

“Of course” I giggled dragging him quickly to his Volvo anxious to get home and see the what Alice had prepared for our before prom girls' night.

We got into the car and Edward took off towards the house “So, love” his voice gently filled the car as he laced his fingers with mine quickly kissing the back of my hand “Your birthday is Sunday anything you would like”

I though for a bit before I shook my head “No I’m so happy with you and the family I couldn’t want anything else” I murmured kissing his hand just as he had done to mine

“You know the whole family has been planning gifts and a small party for you right” he
smiled crookedly at me not even glancing at the road

I chuckled and said “Is that why they are always singing songs or translating in their head when I’m around?” I asked smirking lightly at Edward, he grinned and nodded. I burst into a fit of giggles as we pulled into our long winding driveway.

I leapt from the car before we were even in the garage making Edward shake his head as I darted towards the front door. “I’m home” I called throwing my purse on the couch as I walked into the kitchen. I saw Esme there making something that smelt delicious “Smells yummy Esme” I smiled kissing her cheek as I hopped onto the cool counter by the stove where she was working

“It is stir fry I learned to make it in Hong Kong” she said adding baby corn to the mix of beef ,chicken, noodles, carrots, snap peas, spices and sauce in the large wok on the stove.

“It looks so yummy I’m starving” I said my stomach growling loudly

“Oh we know” Alice giggled walking in “You eat like every two hours on the dot” I pouted and she hugged my waist before happily saying “Spa night for before prom and you my little sister are going to be my Barbie” she looked so excited I groaned lightly and shot Esme a look and she shook her head handing me a large bowl of stir fry and some chopsticks

“The rest is for when you get hungry later” Esme laughed dumping about two thirds of the giant wok’s contents into a large tuber ware bowl.

“fine” I grumbled shoving a huge bite into my mouth I moaned It was sweet and spicy and delicious “So good Esme” I said after swallowing she nodded and Alice yanked me form the counter I glared cradling my large bowl of yummy noodles that had almost spilt

Alice laughed at me face and said “Come on” slowly she drug me up the stairs to Rose’s room to where Rose lay on her bed flipping threw a magazine. “Rose some on” Alice commanded taking my hand and ragging my towards her room as I tried and failed to shove more food in my mouth

“ALICE” I whimpered “I’m hungry” we got to hr room and I poofed into her couch and began shoveling food into my face

“very attractive Serena” Rose said sarcastically as she walked into the room

“Shut up Rose” I whined and added pathetically still shoveling “I’m hungry”

“Ok we are doing full scale spa nights” Alice cheered happily as she flashed into her bathroom grabbing lots of supplies.

I shook my head and mumbled threw a mouthful of noodles “Kill me now”

I blew on my nails tapping them to make sure they were fully dry. I smiled happily at my fresh French manicure loving it on my thin delicate fingers and rounded squared nails “Great job Alice” I giggled

“Thanks Serena” she smiled doing her nails in a pale pink that matched Rose’s

“Does the deep conditioner do anything for my hair?” I asked running my fingers threw my silky locks

“Probably not” Rose giggled

“Lotion?” I asked raising an eyebrow

“Not so much” Alice said smiling as she finished clear coating her nails

“Exfoliater?” I asked giggling

“Your skin is more yielding. Maybe” Rose said shrugging as she flipped threw a magazine her eyes never leaving the celebrities’ photos “Maybe this style for tomorrow” she flashed a picture of and intricate up do that had a rose color ribbon intertwined in it

“Pretty” I murmured twirling my soft white blonde locks around my finger “Why do we do this then?” I asked glancing at the two beautiful women in front of me

“What?” Alice said sounding shaky as she capped off her clear coat cutting of the obnoxious fumes

“Why do you do all these beauty routines if they don’t significantly affect you?” I asked looking at the two curiously

Rose sat stunned her mind thinking over the question as Alice smiled and said “It makes us feel human again” She stood up and touched my soft locks where I sat on her couch. Suddenly her eyes held wisdom beyond her looks and she smiled brightly at me once again fading into her bright bubbly self “You should go to bed it is nearly 3: 30 Edward is most likely growing impatient” she kissed my forehead and ran collecting all the supplies

“Wouldn’t be the first time now would it” I giggled running from the room. I darted into my room and darted into bed finding Edward laying there reading a book while listening to his slim ipod

“Hello love” he said lifting the covers and letting us both snuggle down together “I was just about to come request you go to sleep” he was smiling his perfect crooked smile

“Alice saw you” I murmured laying my head on his chest “Night I love you”

“Love you too baby see you in the morning” he kissed my hair lightly

<<< eleven o’clock in the morning >>>

“WAKEY WAKEY EGS AND BAKEY!!!!!!!” Alice screamed jumping on the bed

“Alice” I groaned she felt like a ton of bricks landing on my tiny body “Off” she grumbled and crawled off me “Give me thirty more minutes” I mumbled laying my head on the pillow and my hands searching for Edward I whimpered when I realized he was gone

“The boys are all gone” I groaned as Alice said this sentence “Guess you don’t want to see the choices I selected for us in Seattle then. Fine you came sleep” she said hopping off the ground.

I bolted up at inhuman speed and wailed “I’m up. I’M UP” I bounced out of bed wearing only panties and Edwards dress shirt and made my way past Alice down stairs to where I smelt food “Thanks Esme” I smiled seeing the mountain of French toast my favorite. I gobbled the food and was done by the time Alice pranced down the stairs

“OK I have a closet full of dresses lets get started” she said overly excited and began dragging me up the stairs to her room where I heard Rose flipping threw clothes in Alice’s giant walk in closet “So…” Alice began

“We were thinking these dresses” Rose said gesturing to three long dresses hung up on a clothes rack “Red for me, Black for Alice and blue for you” she smiled and gestured to the gorgeous gowns

The scarlet dress was nearly identical to the dress Rose had worn in Paris, the black dress showed a lot of skin and was super edgy jus like Alice and the blue dress was pretty, but boring not really my taste “Really?” I asked touching the red dress and scrunching my nose slightly

“Why don’t you like them?” Alice asked looking slightly taken aback

“They are beautiful” I said smiling “But Rose this is identical to the one you wore in Paris” I asked raising an eyebrow

“This plunge is deeper” she said bristling up slightly I looked at her and she mumbled “I always wear red”

“And Alice you are always so edgy why not try something” I searched for the word and whispered “classic, but with a twist of course” I added seeing her stiffen

“I’m always cutting edge” she said looking hurt

“Nothing against both of your styles it is just sometimes we need a change to show our true beauty. Please, Let me pick your gowns and accessories you two can do the rest yourselves promise” I puppy pouted and watched as both their resolve crumbled

“Fine i will wear something classic, but with a twist” Alice added to the end desperately I nodded and smiled reassuringly before turning to Rose

“You can pull anything off” I coaxed

“Fine I won’t wear red” she said crossing her arms and looking determined “But you have to wear white” he smirked evilly

“No” I whined “White blonde hair and vampire skin don’t do white” I crossed my arms and glared

“Then I’m wearing that dress right there” Rose challenged as Alice nodded crossing her arms and popping her hip

I looked between the two and hissed “Fine I will wear white” I glared fiercely at Rose and she smirked before frowning

“I was hoping she would crack” she muttered

“I don’t crack even if it means doing something I don’t want to do” I huffed walking and thumbing threw the dresses.

It took me three hours to pick the dresses and accessories for Alice and Rose. I smiled brightly laying them out on the bed and surveying the outfits. Roses deep green was cut much like the red ones deep plunge in the front that would go most likely to her bellybutton and it was backless. Alice’s dress was a little outside her comfort zone it was a gorgeous amethyst color, it was short about mid thigh, but other than that it was conservative, and had beautiful Grecian style draping with and edgy cut out on the one sleeve so her arm would show. I had kept the jewelry to a minimum only giving each girl a bracelet and earrings. The clutches and the shoes were both black and somewhat streamline, besides Alice’s mesh stilettos.

I gave my self a mental pat on the back before yelling “ROSE ALICE I’M DONE!!” they ran into Edwards’s room and looked at the outfits laid out. I could feel their weariness, but I simply rolled my eyes and huffed “Try them on Rose yours is the green Alice yours in the purple. They shot me looks and gathered up their clothes before disappearing to their rooms. Alice appeared first slipping on her cobra bracelet onto her arm as she walked towards the full-length mirror by the closet

She cocked her head and said “Huh”

Rose ran back into the room smoothing her dress slightly “You both look amazing” I smiled sitting on the bed criss-cross applesauce.

“I do really like this” Alice murmured touching the short hem of her silk dress she smiled brightly at me

“It isn’t red” Rose started slowly looking for her words as she gazed at the mirror thoughtfully “but I like the way it makes me eyes and hair glow” she shot me a soft smile before turning it into a smirk “Time for your up do” she smirked. She grabbed me and we disappeared into Alice giant bathroom

I groaned looking at the torture put out on the counter in front of me “Do I have to” I begged Alice and Rose

They smirked looking beautiful in the outfits I had chosen and the said “Of course” at the same time

“Fine hurry and not a lot of hair spray” I reminded glaring

“Of course” Rose said as she began brushing my rat’s nest of hair and Alice smiled turning on about 6 different curling irons and straigteners. I sighed and just sat back and let them yank and twist my long white blond locks. Occasionally I would change to color out of boredom and would get lightly slapped on the ear making me change back.

<<< Two an a half hours later >>>

I jumped up and smiled happily saying “I’m done WOO!!” my hair was pulled into a crazy intricate twisty smooth up do I had no clue how those two did it but they did. My makeup had been done with a soft smoky navy blue eye that made my fake green eyes twinkle and my real purple eyes look sultry, my lips were done in a pale matte pink and my cheeks were slightly flushed. The other two had just gone light on the make up eyeliner and pale pink or nude lips they both also left their hair done. I growled seeing Rose with her hair in soft loose curls “Not fair” I glared and she laughed

“You hair had to be up for this dress” Alice scolded she took my hand and drug me into her closet while covering my eyes in her chilly hands “Ok don’t freak but it is white you are gonna look gorgeous” Alice reminded gently

“I won’t look like a bride will I?” I asked my eyes still screwed shut tight

“No” Rose laughed from behind up

“Ok” slowly my eyes fluttered open and I saw the long one shouldered crystallized bust with a sweetheart neckline white dress “It is pretty” I murmured touching the soft see threw silk that made up the body of the dress “I don’t know though I may look like I’m walking down the isle

“Promise you wont” Alice said shoving the dress a bit more into my hands

“Fine” I glared and striped slipping on the dress I felt naked. The outlines of my legs we visible like threw a screen threw the layers of delicate silk, and the neck line showed the natural swell of my breasts perfectly the one strap hit just right allowing a peek of my cleavage but not much. I slid on the four inch heels, and then I added the bracelet, ring and grabbed the purse “Ok I’m ready still not thrilled bout the white though I love the cut I smiled smoothing my hand across my hip

“One more thing” Alice ran out of the room and reappeared holding a small balck satin box “Edward wanted you to wear these” Alice smiled snapping open the box I gasped and looked at the large twinkling amythest and diamond drop earrings

“I cant” I murmured mesmerized by their beauty

“Yes you can he wants you to” Alice murmured slowly putting one of the arrings in my ear the next followed the same I walked over and stared mesmerized at the large twinkling stones hanging daintily from my ears “They were his mother’s” Alice smiled hugging my waist from behind and setting her head gently on my shoulder as I continued to caress the jewels

“Come on time for us to go down stairs feed you dinner and head out to the prom” Alice smiled brightly “I haven’t gone to a prom I over a decade” she giggled like a small child

“They all begin feeling like the same thing, but your with us so we decided to all go for moral support” Rose smiled prettily at me

“Thanks” I smiled back as we walked slowly down the hall

I heard Esme say “Boys the girls are coming down the stair in about a minutes.

I giggled and hid slightly in Alice’s neck still giggling “Ok Rose you go first then me then Serena” Alice smiled squeezing me softly. Rose winked and began descending the stairs slowly, Alice patted my hand softly and began her descent after we heard Emmet hug Rose down stairs. I smiled hearing Jasper kiss Alice’s cheek softly and slowly began walking down the stairs carefully. I smiled seeing everyone down stairs smiling back at me my grin widened when I saw Edward. His jaw was slightly slack and he stared at me with utter devotion and love in his eyes. I reached the last step and stepped up to him lightly I closed his mouth before pecking his lips smiling softly.

I took a step and almost fell but I grabbed a hold of Edward’s arm with vampire speed “Once a clutz always a clutz” I smiled and the entire family cracked up before moving into the kitchen where I could smell the chicken marsala one of my favorites.
I made to take a step, but Edward wrapped an arm around my waist and whispered in my ear softly “You look beautiful love”

I turned and looked at his all black tieless tux and said “You don’t look so bad you self baby” I smiled and kissed his lips softly before my stomach growled loudly ruining the moment “I’m hungry lets go”
