The Night That Never Should Have Happened

Jasper's Pov

I got into the taxi with tears rolling down my face, I didn't know what to do anymore,

"Where you going??" the taxi driver said,

"Anywhere away from here" I shrugged and sniffed back the tears I was holding inside,

the diver then started to drive and all I could hear was Paige screaming for me in the background, 'Why did she do this for?? how could she?? I thought she loved me and I thought we were going to be a happy family but she has to go and do this! I can't believe what's happened', I screamed at myself in my head. As the driver drove on the tears I was hiding started to leak,

"Um...mister?? are you ok??" he asked looking at me in his rear-view mirror,

I shook my head, scared that my voice would break if I tried to speak,

"Ok...I'll leave you to it, but if you need anyone to talk to I'm here if you want, I know I'm a taxi driver but sometimes guys and gals have asked me things and I've helped them in return..." he was being nice I had to give him that,

I nodded my head slightly but didn't speak as the tears were getting thicker and thicker. As we drove on Paige's face was all I could see, behind my closed eyes she was the only thing I could think about, her voice as she shouted after me making my heart ache really bad, I just wanted to die right here and now, there was nothing for me anymore...everything had been taken from me and I couldn't get it back ever again. I let my head think about that disaster of a wedding again,

'As she came out from that back room I was wondering what she would look like, I knew she would be beautiful as she always has been but when I layed eyes on her my heart skipped a beat, and when she walked down the isle I could feel my legs turning to jelly,

"Don't fall down Jasper" I told myself in a low whisper, for only I could hear,

she came down with such grace about her I was the most happiest guy in the world to be marrying the one I love by my side. When she was finally standing by my side I let out a small sigh of relief, then I held onto her hand and stared into her beautiful eyes, the preist then spoke,

"Jasper you will repeat this after me."
"I Jasper Matthew Digle,take you Paige Georgia Alent"
"I Jasper Matthew Digle,take you Paige Georgia Alent" I was so nervous,

"To be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward,"

I took the ring off the desk slowly and placed it with pride on her finger, then the priest turned to Paige,

"Paige you will repeat this after me."
"I Paige Georgia Alent, take you Jasper Matt Digle"
"I Paige Georgia Alent, take you Jasper Matt Digle" she looked confident,

"To be my wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward,"

she picked up my ring and placed it on my finger, that's where it would stay, with her touch sealed on it, then the priest said those words I knew would mean nothing, everything was find between me and Paige, we were one,

"If anyone here have any reason why these two people should not be married speak now or forever hold your peace" he said quite loudly,

silence was everywhere, see I had nothing to be worried about, he then went on,

"Right then you may ki...",

"STOP!",

everyone in the church turned around. There at the back of the church was my mate Sam. What was going on?? why was he spoiling my special day,

"What is it young man??" the preist said,

"They shall not be married, she is pregnant...with my baby" Sam shouted, what was he saying??,

I looked at her shocked, and the mouthed "Is it true??",

"No, no it's not he's lying" she said shaken,

I looked into her eyes, she was panicking,

"Prove it" is all I could sqweak out,

she looked shocked at what I had said. Sam then rushed up to the front of the church and pulled out a brown paper bag, and then showed me a DNA test...

"See its my baby" he said this with a smug grin, I couldn't believe what was happening,

Paige started to cry heavily, her tears where streaming down her rosey cheeks,

"No Jasper it's wrong, it's a joke paper it's not true" she whimpered out through her tears,

I looked at her so shocked and broken by this whole thing, the one and only girl I've truely loved was pregnant with my mate's baby and wanted to still get married to me,

"I'm sorry" I said to the preist and then ran out of the church, Paige following me with the sound of her ripping her beautiful white dress,

"Jasper!! Jasper..." she screamed it out at the top of her lungs after me,

I stopped completely and then turned to show her the tears that were streaming down my face, how could she have done this to me?? I loved her with everything and this is what I got back from her, her being pregnant with my mates baby...,

"Why Paige??, Why do it??, Why the hell did you do it??, I thought you loved me, you promised me forever, me and only me and then...and then you go and do this" I could hold my tears back, I just wanted to run away from here forever,

"I...I...I don't know, I'm sorry" she said, her voice just a whisper from all the crying,

"I don't care Paige it's over." I stormed off and jumped into the taxi.

"Hey mate?? um...this is as far as I can take you" the taxi driver thankfully taking me away from the memory,

I looked up at him, luckyly the tears had stopped falling and of what I could see in his rear-view mirror my whole face was blotchy,

"Um...how much do I owe you??" and then I remembered, I didn't have any of my money on me,

"Don't worry about it mate, it's alright I can tell you don't have any money on ya" he was a kind guy, "Here..." he handed me a couple £10 notes, "There's a B&B down the road, maybe you should stay there for a while, just to sort yourself out",

I smiled weakly to him and took the money notes, before getting out of the car and watching him drive off in a hurry. I turned to were he had pointed out the B&B and started on walking down the road to find it. It wasn't that far down the road and quickly paid for my room for the next week, I remembered I had my phone on me and quickly checked what was what, '10 new messages, 14 missed calls' woah someone was trying to get in contact with me, but when I saw who it was I couldn't believe my eyes, he had a nerver trying to call me, I'm never going to speak to Sam ever again. I thought I'd read a message from him and was shocked by what it said,

'Dude you gotta come back, Paige has been hit by a car! You've got to come back now'

she had been ran over??! but who would do such a thing?? but I couldn't go back, it was going to make everything worse and the fact I didn't actually know where I was in the first place. I pressed the power button to my phone and threw it at a wall, it shattered into pieces across the floor and I slumped down across my new bed for the week,

"A new life Jasper, that's what you need" I said aloud to myself as I closed my eyes and tried to fight away the images of Paige.
I layed there thinking of Paige and her face with such sadness and upset that I didn't hear the door to my room open, a creak in the floor boards made me aware and when I looked up I saw the B&B receptionist in my room,

"erm.. excuse me Mr.Dingle the room is to be cleaned would you mind disapearing for a couple of hours? so sorry to bother you"

"sure mate" i replyed then got up off the bed and walked out of the b&b.

I found myself at the seafront. not far from mine and..... no i'm not going to think about that

as i started walking i found myself at sams house. i knocked and he answered. i thought i could chat to him like a civialized person. but as soon as he opened his mouth i knew it was too late.

"Nice seeing you again mate" Sam replied with his smug grin, as he opened the door

"You...." the words didn't come out "I will kill you if its the last thing I do" Jumped at him.

BANG!!

I fell back onto the pavement and my eyes closed, forgetting the pain I had in my chest,

"Guess it wasn't the last thing you did" Sam was laughing at me, mocking me.

With my last breath I said my final sentence "I still love you Paige".
