Uncharted Waters

Preface

Water. My whole world was surrounded by it. It’s one of those things that can go either way, good or evil. Good in that it soothes the burn of dehydration that aches in your throat, or that it is the breath of life for almost all organisms. And evil because of the terrible fates it brings to many: drowning, hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis. All ending in one big watery grave. Sometimes water is benign. Just another object in your peripheral vision, not quite at the center of attention like it should be. Thrown off to the side like an old toy being boxed up for a garage sale. And that’s when we strike; the seemingly forgotten creatures that lurk in the shadowy depths of the uncharted water… the story of my life.
