The Perfect Smile

Maddy cringed over at the plate of food that The Riddler had left in the corner, or should I say lack of food. It was a couple carrots and some lettuce tossed on a plate with a piece of bread. Earlier she wouldn't even think to reach over and place it in her mouth, but now due to the rumbling in her stomach she was considering it. She didn't know how long she'd been here, but she was guessing not too long, maybe a day or two. She reached over and picked up a carrot, examined it and hoped that it didn't contain some kind of poison that would take her life.

Meanwhile The Joker walked downstairs with the three surviving men. Bones, Worm, and Skip. Who would be tagging along on his adventures to The hideout of Riddlers. He still didn't trust any of them men, and didn't know why he was going along with this whole idea. But he figured he might as well join in on the fun. He and his men got inside the van and made their way over to the hideout.

Penny walked up the steps to her best friends house and knocked hard on the door. She just needed to see her before she was off doing her own thing. She knocked again, very hard. No one answered. She scrunched up her nose in confusion a bit and noticed a black BMW pulling up into the drive way. "That's Joe's" she thought to herself as she walked down the steps. Joe stepped out of the car and Penny's eyes raised in confusion.

Joe: Has Maddy came out? I tried calling and she won't pick up!

He said rushing to the door and got out his keys. Penny looked at him almost as if she had seen a ghost. Joe pushed open the door and both of them rushed up the stairs each screaming out her name. Penny ran into her best friends room only to find it empty. Then she heard Joe yell for her.

Joe: PENNY, SHE'S BEEN KIDNAPPED?

Penny looked at him as he held up a piece of paper. She knew what was on the paper though. She knew exactly what was going on, and now she regretted her decision. You see, Penny had also kept secrets from Maddy much like everyone else in her life had. Penny done other activities at night that Maddy wasn't aware of. Penny closed her eyes as Joe read the riddle out loud.

The Joker got out of his van followed by his goons. He was hunching inside the building when he noticed a very pissed off Catwoman storming in front of him, and pushing the door open with so much force it almost flew off the hinges. She yelled out for the Riddler in such a demanding tone that The Joker was almost taken back by her actions. Damn, Catwoman has a angry side, he thought as he walked in behind her.

Riddler: Yes dear?

He said walking down an old wooden staircase with a stupid smile plastered on his face. Now he looked like a freak, The Joker thought.

Catwoman: Didn't you say you was taking care of the doctor, Mr. Hudson.
Riddler: Yes, I am.
Catwoman: How when he's walking the streets of Gotham.
Riddler: Oh, I've got a little something of his.
Catwoman: What is that?

She growled out. The Joker looked at her for a second and could tell she was very pissed off, normally he would leave and wonder around allowing to two to get into a cat fight, however he wanted to witness this little argument.

Riddler: I've got his precious little daughter.

The cat woman huffed and stormed out of the room and into another where Penguin and Ivy was already sitting at a table. The Joker looked up at the Riddler who only shrugged his shoulders. Why would she care who he had? Wait, he thought. His daughter, the nurse.. Madeline. He had her. But still, why would Catwoman give two flying shits about her.

He walked in and soon Two face walked in behind them. All of them sit down at the table and began discussing their plans for destruction on the city, that was until they heard screaming coming from inside the old house. Catwoman's eyes was glued to the ceiling hearing the screams. She wondered what exactly was going on.

Joker: What is that?

He ask in a mocking tone and the Riddler just rolled his eyes. What could that girl have possibly done he thought to himself as he got up and shoved his chair under the table and walked upstairs. He opened the door and saw the girl standing on a old wooden chair screaming and pointing.

Riddler: WHY . ARE . YOU . SCREAMING?
Maddy: Spi-spi-spider!

She managed to spit out through her terrified shudders. She was scared to death of spiders, one had bit her as a child and she had to get rushed to the hospital, and since then she's hated them. Especially the big ones, LIKE THE ONE THAT SHE WAS LOOKING AT. The Riddler laughed and was getting ready to walk out of the door when a man in a purple suit walked in.

Maddy: You!

Maddy yelled at him, she recognized him immediately to be The Joker. Maybe he was why she was here, maybe he had kidnapped her!

Joker: What?
Maddy: YOU DID THIS?

He just looked at her and then studied her for a minute. She was in lounge clothes, and her hair was a mess, not to mention she looked dirty and terrified, much different than she did when she was at Arkham working as a CNA. He just shook his head and rolled his eyes walking over in the corner and stepping on the insect that she was scared to death of.

SPLAT

Maddy heard and noticed that he had squashed the spider with his shoe. She wondered why he was here, and why the hell she was here too. Did the two of them work together or something.

Riddler: Now that this episode is over. We'll be heading out, i'm sure they'll be plenty more of creatures lurking in the dark. Keep your screams down.

He held the door open for The Joker only he didn't move. He just stood there looking at her and still studied her. He couldn't believe that he was now standing in front of the very woman who nursed him back to health. The same woman that called the corrupt cops who beat him pigs. He never thought he'd be seeing her again. Maddy then turned her attention to a woman who walked in. The woman was of color and she dressed in a black tight fitting suit with rips in it that looked like she had been attacked by a wild animal. She also had cat ears on her costume. She recognized her to be Catwoman.

Catwoman: Are you okay?

She purred in a soft voice. Maddy only nodded as she stepped off the chair and then took a seat on it. She was really confused now. Not only was The Riddler and The Joker here, but now Catwoman too. What was this a fun house for every criminal in Gotham?

Penny couldn't help but feel sorry for Maddy as she watched her over in the corner. She just wished she could take off her mask and reveal her identity to Maddy, but she knew she couldn't. Maddy would never understand, she had too good of a heart. She'd probably think Penny was awful for doing some of the things she did. So she'd have to try her best to keep Maddy safe while still seeming like a bad ass.

The Joker walked out of the room, followed by Catwoman. After walking downstairs they found out that the discussion was over and then the two of them left leaving the other four there for whatever reason they didn't know.

The Riddler looked over at Two Face and got up motioning for him to come upstairs. Two Face followed and he then opened the door to Maddy's room. Maddy's eyes opened wide when she saw Two Face. Sure, she had saw glimpses of him while he was in Arkham, but never this close up. She studied his face. Half still perfect while the other half belonged six feet under. She couldn't believe that he was once one of Gotham's protectors and now he was the scum of Gotham.

Slowly after they walked in a very short man dressed in black with a weird nose came in. As soon as he saw Maddy his eyes got wide and a smile formed on his lips.

Penguin: She's pretty.

He said towards the Riddler and Two Face who only looked down on him like he was some sort of trash that they neglected and tossed to the side. Then a woman in green looked over at her and raised an eyebrow.

Ivy: Why is she of importance.
Riddler: Listen here. Does Joe Hudson ring a bell sweetheart?

He ask while looking at Maddy whose mouth had only dropped and her eyes began to fill with tears. She looked at each and every one of them as they begin laughing.

Two Face: WELL.
Maddy: He's my father.

She said very low, almost not even noticeable. They all looked at her and she knew that she would have to repeat herself even though she was dying to roll over in a ball and cry her eyes out in fear that something has happened to her father.

Riddler: Hmmm?
Maddy: He's my father

She said louder and more clear. Then she heard some laughter erupt and she couldn't help but let tears fall out of her eyes.

Ivy: I think the other Catwoman is weak, and The Joker well.. I just don't know about him.
Riddler: I think so too, maybe we'll just have to turn on them.
Maddy: He'll get you.

She said without even thinking. She didn't mean to let it split, but it just came out. She mentally smacked herself for always saying her opinion. But she couldn't help it. The stuff she had read was horrible, and she learned that he always takes down those who cross him. Or at least that's what one of the police reports she read online stated.

Riddler: What'd you say?

He ask walking close to her and then he reached down and wrapped his hand tightly around her throat and raised her up with it. She only looked at him and let the tears fall, he smiled and then dropped her to the floor. She breathed in and looked up at him. He turned around and she assumed that the scene was over however she was wrong. As soon as she let her guard down he turned around and kicked her hard in the stomach which caused her to bend over in agony. He proceeded to kick her numerous times and then reached down and took her head, ramming it into the old wall behind her causing some of it to crumble down from the impact. Once she was beaten and cut up he dropped her down to the ground and got down on her level and looked at her. Busted lip, black and blue eyes, not to mention gashes and cuts that had left a crimson trail of blood on her face.

Riddler: Now, what'd you say?

He ask one more time as the others all snickered in the background. Maddy winced in pain as a tear trailed down over one of her fresh cuts. She had never thought that she would be beaten this bad in her life. She only wished that there was a way out of this hell hole. Soon the four of them left the room, leaving Maddy to suffer in her own pain and agony. She laid there and started thinking about everything. Why would her father be responsible for her being here? Why would they consider Catwoman weak? Why wouldn't they want to work with The Joker? Nothing made sense to her.
