Sequel: Ginny-Ella

Romeo Take Me

So Close Your Eyes

That night, after my dad had finally woken up and the girls had left, I went home. Before I went in, I collected the mail. My phone had died before I left the hospital, and I noticed that there were some missed calls and text messages.
I went upstairs so I could charge my phone right away.
I pressed the power button and the light went on. The missed calls were all from the same number, one I didn’t recognize.
When I checked the text messages, it was made obvious who it was that had called me all those times.
hi Juliet! it’s romeo! haha, that sounds so funny. hope all is well 
I quickly called back Romeo. He answered on the first ring.
“Hi!” He said, sounding excited.
“Hey, it’s Juliet.” I said cautiously.
He laughed, “I know.”
“How did you get my number?” I asked, curiously, “I mean, I don’t mind or anything, I’m just wondering.”
“I blackmailed your cousin.” He said simply. I began to laugh, “Nah, not really.” He said, “I just asked and he gave it to me. He’s not good on the whole security thing. That might not be the smartest thing to do if you end up being first kid.”
“Ugh, don’t say that.” I moaned as I lay back on my bed.
“Why?” He asked, “You don’t want your dad to be president?”
I snorted, “Yeah. His wife just had quintuplets and he wants to move them and his rebellious teenager to Washington. I’m pretty sure the dude must be on drugs.”
“Your stepmom had quintuplets?” He asked, sounding surprised. I have to admit, I’d be a LITTLE worried if he wasn’t surprised.
“Yeah, crazy, right? And they KNEW and my dad is still running. He’s an idiot.”
“Oh.” He was quiet.
“What about you? Don’t you want to be first kid?” I joked.
I heard him sigh, “No. I just don’t think my dad would be a good president.”
I was surprised to hear him say this, “Really? Why not?”
I could hear him let a breath out, “I dunno. I really don’t think he’s cut out for the job, that’s all.” I could imagine him shrugging.
“Yeah, I think my dad would be an okay president, just not now.” I said slowly, trying to make sure everything I was thinking was formed into normal words.
“I don’t know.” He sighed, “So, I just realized I don’t know a lot about you, and you don’t know that much about me.”
“Okay?” I said, although it sounded more like a question, “What do you want to know?
“What’s your middle name?” He asked promptly.
I made a face, “Esme.” I said, gagging.
He laughed, “Sweet. Mine’s Vincent.”
“Romeo Vincent Montgomery.” I muttered to myself, but he heard and laughed.
“Juliet Esme Caperson.” He paused, “That really is a beautiful name.”
I blushed, thankful he couldn’t see me.
“Okay, my turn.” I said, “What’s your favorite color.”
“Green.” He replied.
“Why?” I asked, “That’s too questions.”
“Fine. My favorite color is red.” I said, “And black.”
He laughed, “Not pink?”
I gagged, “Do you WANT to make me puke?” I asked, “Although, I do really like purple.”
“Favorite book?” He asked, ignoring my last comment.
“I don’t really like reading. But I liked those vampire books. Twilight?”
“Ooh, my cousin, Ashlyn, LOVES those. She made me read them.”
I laughed, “I bet you wanted to die.”
“Nah, I just knew that most girls are in love with that Edward dude, so I thought I should probably act like him.”
“Good Call.” I teased.
He laughed. We continued asking each other questions until we knew each other better than we knew ourselves.
