Not Meant for Me

Chapter Two

Pandora's pov:

Last night Affinity and I came up with a plan to get back at Parkinson, and it should so happen to work. "Pandora get up or you won't be able to get any breakfast." I heard Affinity, she must be dressed already. "I’m up." I said grumpily, stretching my arms. "Morning to you too." She sneered, so we don't get along perfectly all the time.

I got out of bed and opened my trunk. Pulling out my uniform and leaving the dorm. Five minutes later I came back in, applying my eyeliner in a mini mirror quickly. "I'll meet you down there." Affinity said rushing off. Few minutes later my hair was brushed, make-up just right so I grabbed my bag and left the dorm. The last to leave like always.

I took my usual seat next to Blaise and Affinity, opposite of Draco. "Morning sexy." Blaise greeted me, his breath on my neck. I didn’t acknowledge this, only began eating. "Are you ignoring me?" I acted as if I didn’t hear him. "What did I do?" "Probably just her time of the month." I heard a snappy voice from a few seats over. "Weasley." I sneered swallowing my food. "Lestrange." She said with an air of boredom to her voice. "Well don't you look-" "Better then you? I was thinking the same thing." I let out a small growl, loud enough for only Affinity to hear. Natalie got up with her books and walked passed us before I could insult her back, but she stopped just in front of Blaise. "Zabini you can do so much better then Lestrange." There was a hint of arrogance to her voice, and she 'walked' off towards the Entrance Hall.

"How dare she?" I growled to no one in particular. "I thought it was funny." Parkinson said softly. "Funny? You thought that was funny Parkinson?" I growled a little louder getting looks from near by students, I gave them a killer look and they went back to what they were doing. "Blaise!" I smacked his arm, "What’s a matter with you? I get insulted and all you can do is sit there and make lustful eyes at the bitch that did it? Yeah I noticed that." I got up without finishing my plate, throwing my bag over my shoulder and leaving. Bumping harshly into Blaise on my way out. Almost of out earshot I heard Affinity call me but I just kept walking.

I stood in line outside of Dark Arts, a few hours later just after lunch, which I didn’t attend.

"Pandora you alright?" I heard Draco, first time I’ve seen him since breakfast. "I’m fine." I snarled. "You don't sound fine." I turned to face him, "Fine I’m not fine, I’m very pissed off that---that---that---argh!” I couldn’t finish my sentence, all morning long I was fuming. "Calm down." Draco said in my ear, he was the one and only to get me to calm down. His voice was relieving to say the least. I took a breath and let it out, "After Potions go and spend sometime with Zabini, you'll feel better." Draco said, smirking slightly. "Thanx." I muttered, more people got into a line, after another minute or so the bell rang, the door opened. We walked in not knowing what to expect.

I grabbed a seat in the back, next to Affinity, Draco on the other side and Parkinson next to him. Goyle and Crabbe in front of him, Blaise in front of me. Natalie a row over in front of him. The fat pink-bubble-gum nightmare came out from behind her desk, looking at us all with an odd sort ofsmile. "Good afternoon class." No one says anything, they all, we all, just look at her. "Tut tut, that won't do, now will it? I would like you please to reply 'Good Afternoon Professor Umbridge'. One more time please. Good afternoon class!" "Good afternoon Professor Umbridge." Grumbles us all, that seems good enough for her.

"Well now your teaching in this subject has been rather disrupted and fragmented hasn’t it? The constant changing of teachers, whom do not seem to have followed any Ministry approved curriculum, has unfortunately resulted in your being far below the standard we would expect to see in your O.W.L. year. You will be pleased to know however these problems are now to be rectified, we will be following a carefully Ministry-approved course of Defensive Magic this year." The class erupted in whispers, I looked from Affinity to Draco. "What the hells that suppose to mean?" I whispered to Draco when I heard a nagging little cough. "Now take out Defensive Magical Theory by Wilbert Slinkhard and turn to chapter one. Read it." Said Umbridge, the only sounds in the room came from the moving of books, I pulled mine out and stared at it. Not opening it. I glanced around the room and sure enough everyone was 'reading.' All except that Mudblood Granger.

She raised her hand, for a moment or two Umbridge ignored her. "Need something my dear?" She asked sweetly. "Defensive Theory? Are we not going to be practicing jinxes and counter curses?" "Of course not. There is no need for you to be using spells like that."

"Were not going to be doing magic?" Interjected Ron Weasley,

"Your hand isn’t raised." Said Umbridge. The class broke into little shouts, and Umbridge looked slightly uncomfortable.

"And who would want to attack children like yourselves?" Mainly Potter was arguing back now.

"Hmm let me think..." Said Potter in a mocking tone, "Lord Voldemort."

Students cringed, Parkinson, Weasley, Mudblood, even Affinity. Umbridge walked along the desk rows, stopped by Potter. "You have been told that a certain Dark Lord is at large once again, this is a lie."

"It’s NOT A LIE!" Shouted Potter, which took everyone aback, including me.

"I fought him!"

"Detention Potter." Said Umbridge turning her back on him as on the rest of us and walking back to her desk.

"So according to you Cedric Diggory dropped dead on his own accord?" Potter asked, some students gasped.

"Cedric's death was a tragic accident."

"It was murder. He was murdered by Voldemort."

"See me after class Potter." Said Umbridge in her sweetest voice yet.

The rest of the class time was silent, the bell rang and everyone cleared out.

As you can see the dialog isn't the same as in the book, I noticed this when I flipped through the book when I grabbed the story from Quizilla.

Thank you for reading!
