I'll Take You Out Though I'm Hardly Worth Your Time

After what seemed like the longest walk of my life, we finally arrived in the dining area. Everyone was eating their breakfast already. I scanned the room for Jess. I see her and approached her table.

“How is it?” she asked

“Fine, but completely awkward” I sigh

“It’ll get better each day. Trust me” she beamed

I groan and remembered her talking to Alex

“Oh, yeah, I have a question” I told her

“What?” she smiled

“Do you still have a crush on Alex? I mean, you were able to talk to him straight last night without stuttering”

She blushed and looked down to her plate

“Tell me the truth, do you have someone?” I asked

“Well, I don’t really know, but-“

“Just say it Jess!” I demanded

“Ok, there might be something going on between me an Jack” her voice went softer with every word that I almost didn’t hear the last word, which was JACK

“Jack??” I managed to half yell

She just nodded and blushed again.

I laugh “Oh my God, Jess! You two look so cute!”

“Sash, it’s not really official yet. Like I said, there was something but I am not sure yet” she said, still blushing so hard

“I can’t believe you two will end up with each other!” I squeal “So, that’s why you don’t care about Alex anymore, you like Jack now!” I accused

“Can you shush it a bit?!” she hissed

I smile at her “Now, it’s my turn to tease!” I laugh triumphantly

“Whatever, I still think you and Alex are meant for each other” she mocked

I just roll my eyes and ate my food. How can we be meant for each other when he doesn’t even treat me correctly?

Breakfast was done and the task for the day was being announced at the moment. I am sitting with Alex because we had to be together the whole time now just so the teachers wouldn’t suspect anything again.

“So, everyone, for today, each pair will leave their cabins and stay outside for three days. Everyone will have to build their own tents and both reside in one. All of you should learn on how to deal with each other, even if it’s hard. You should all work together in order to be able to survive the three days we are giving you.”

The announcements for that morning were done and I was worrying on how the hell we were gonna do this staying out thing. This is going to be so bad. I mean, in the cabin, we were so uncomfortable with each other already, what more in a tent that’s a million times smaller than the cabin?

“Don’t bring so much stuff, just so we will not be so cramped up in the tent” Alex told me as we take some things to bring with us

“Yeah I know” I say to him. I am starting to get annoyed with him. He doesn’t treat me right, and I am always the one trying to reach out to him. I just hope I’ll not snap at him and cause chaos around here.
