Sequel: Save Me

You're Right That It's Wrong To Spend the Night Alone

I looked up at Will, wiping at my eyes. "Yeah, I know. Okay? I know it's my fault. I know I destroyed him. I know that I am a terrible, terrible person. And I'm sorry. But he knows I have problems with commitment, he knew I wasn't ready to be his boyfriend."

"That doesn't give you the right to be such a prick he tries to kill himself, dammit!"

I looked down and grabbed my hoodie. "I'm well aware," I stated, and walked out.

**FOUR MONTHS LATER**

"Ryan? You ready to go?"

He looked up at me and nodded.

"'Kay, well, I'm taking you today, so let's go."

He nodded again, walking outside and settling into the car.

"So, how's the therapy going?" I tried to make small talk on the way to his therapist's office.

"Which one?" he mumbled sarcastically.

"Either. Both."

"Fine."

"Ryan, you know I am sorry."

"I know."

"And I love you."

"I know."

We sat in silence again, until we reached the physical therapy office.

"Bye, Bren."

"Love you, Ry."

His refusal to ever say those words to me -to anyone- again woulds always remind me of how I messed up.
