Please Tell Me What We Have Is Real

Madison has been home for about a month,and Brian and I had our hands full with her. Having a baby is alot time and work. We had been lacking way to much sleep and tiem to ourselves, I felt exhausted all the time and like I would say soemthing I would regret if I wasn't careful. And it most likely would be aimed at Brian.

"Bri!" I yelled, hoping he could hear me. Madison was being bratty and wouldn't let me put her down and Pinkly wanted out. Add that on to laundry needing to be done and everything else, I needed help.

"What? You don't have to yell." He said walking down the stairs.

"Can you take Pinkly out, please. Oh, and start the washer." I pleaded.

Sighing he said, "Fine, Pinkly come on." I looked at him closely and noticed dark circles under his usually bright eyes and that he hasn't shaved in awhile. I heard the glass doors open and close, so I decided to go and make lunch. I grabbed madi's bouncer seat and her, then set them in the middle of the island so I could cook and keep an eye on her. Spaghetti seemed like the easiest thing ot make, so I went and got the ingrediants to do it. Putting water on the stove, I turned towards Madison and said:

"I think your daddy is mad at me. Or really, really tired." She just cooed and started rocking her seat. I felt arms wrap around my middle and then someone place the'ir chin on my shoulder. I hadn't even heard him come in. I automatically leaned back in his arms, while still putting the noodles in the water once it started boiling.

"Baby, I'm not mad at you. I have no reason to be. I think we both are tired and worn out. It's just taking us time to get used to this. It's a big change." He said in my ear. He placed an small kiss on my temple to prove his point.

"I know. I just feel like a bad parent because half the time I don't know what she wants or what to do. I'm tired and frustrated." I said trying to keep the tears in. Sadly, the next thing i knew they were making a trail down my cheeks. I heard Brian sigh and turned me around so I could bury my face in his chest.

"Shh, Chloe it's okay.Your doing great. i think you just need to be able to get more than two hours of sleep." He said slighlty rocking us. I calmed down and told him to go sit at the island while I finished.

"I know. They say that when ther about eight weeks they finally start to sleep alot longer in the night. So, we have a few more before then." I said. He smiled and went back to entertainign Madi. He would push on her chair to make it bounce, and she would coo because of it. Seeing him with her made me smile and know that she was worth it.

"Lunch is ready Bri." I said once the sauce finally got hot. I plated them and jsut decided to sit at the island so that we both could keep an eye on her. I didn't want to miss a minute of what she did, it was amazing.

"This tastes really good." He said. Suck up. I went and got him a beer, and me a soda since I decided to feed her formula rather than breast feed. She had a sensitive stomach and didn't really take weel with what I offered.

"Did you notice anything about Madi that was different.?' i questioned him. He stopped making her smile and turned to me with a questioning look.

"Was I supposed to?" He sounded worried. Cute.

"Her eyes finally got color in them and guess what color they are?" Her eyes were definatly like Brian's. same color and sparkle in them. I was glad to.

"Holy shit She has mine." He said, his whole face glowed as did his eyes. I laughed and continued eating. After we were done, and I fed her. I layed her down for a nap, then collapsed on the couch next o brian who was watching a movie.

"I have an idea." He stated, of course jolting me awake.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"I called and asked dad and Suzy if they would watch her for awhile. We need to sleep and that is the only way."

"Are you sure? I'm fine." I had that new parent fear, couldn't help it.

"They'll be here in a few minutes. So go get her a bag ready." he said. As I got up of the couch, he slapped my ass, hard and when I turned to glare at him he was smirking. I just shook my head and wnet and got her stuff ready. Just as he said, they showed up and took her over to their house. They were excited to spend time with their granddaughter.

"Alright Chloe. Let's go get some sleep." Brian said, dragging me to our room. I stripped to my bra and booty shorts and climbed under the covers. I was still wary of my body after having a baby, no amtter how many times Brian has said i looked beautiful. I felt the bed dip on his side, so I cuddled up to him and listened to his heartbeat.

"Night Bri." I said.

"Night Chloe." I fell asleep for the first time in a month.
