Dear Gravity You've Held Me Down

With a groan I pulled myself out of my dream, which was harder than usual seeing as it was an incredibly great dream. Hot sweaty bodies and heavy panting were involved if you must know. On the verge of consciousness I stretched out and sighed, before realizing this bed wasn’t mine, it was too... comfortable to be mine. With that my eyes snapped open in alarm to see four plain light blue walls, and that I was alone. I was fully dressed, and there was no sign that anyone else had been in this room. I sat up slowly already feeling a headache coming on, and gripped my hair remembering about the hair extensions I had been wearing; they were out. That was when I noticed the bedside table with a glass of water and 2 Advil tablets, and my hair extensions.

Where was I? What happened last night?

I swallowed the pills quickly and drowned the remainder of the water just for good measure, before pulling the covers off of me and wobbling onto my feet. I walked towards the open door, and heard humming and sizzling coming from my right. My bare feet padded across the cool carpet... wasn’t I wearing stockings? I looked down quickly to notice I was in a really long t-shirt that went to my knees. I frowned before continuing my exploring.

I paused at the doorway to see a tall lanky boy in only pajama pants cooking bacon on the over, his hair somewhat messy, and his back a tad pale. “William?” I asked, my voice sounding harsh to my own ears.

He turned around and smiled “Morning, I just started making brunch for you,”

“Thanks,” I mumbled a slight smile on my lips as I stood there awkwardly “Um, did you change me?”

His cheeks went red, “Yeah, um, I did, but only, only because that dress, it, it didn’t look comfortable at all,” He stuttered.

“Thanks,” I nodded walking over to the kitchen table. “So what’s on the menu?” I questioned.

“You, you don’t mind?” He asked surprised.

“No, it was sweet, besides I’m not shy,” I laughed. “Now what is the cook making me?” I batted my eye lashes at him.

“Bacon and eggs sound ok?” He asked.

“Sure, I’ll be polite and eat the eggs I suppose...” I trailed off biting my lip.

“Oh, you don’t like them? I haven’t started on the eggs yet,” He asked panicked.

“I’ll eat them,” I shrugged “But I won’t like it,”

“Forget the eggs, pancakes or waffles?” He asked placing the eggs back in the fridge.

“Waffles with wiped cream?” I asked my eye brows rising in excitement.

“You got it,” He grinned before setting off on the meal.

“Bonne apatite,” He smiled setting down the full plate in front of me.

“Mmm, looks good,” I smiled as he sat down across from me a plate of his own, and a cute smile on his lips.

After we were done eating I helped William wash the dishes, as we listened to the Smashing Pumpkins, when he started singing along I couldn’t help but giggle. “What are you laughing about?” He asked fake glaring at me.

“How cute it is you still sing like a fan, fame hasn’t gotten through to your head I’m guessing,” I laughed. He blushed slightly as his mouth formed an ‘o’ in understanding. “You know I don’t know which I like better, your amazing cooking or your blushing like a school girl,” I giggled.

“Hey I am not a girl,” He pouted grabbing a few of the bubbles from the dish water and smearing them on my nose.

“Ah!” I shouted, before flicking water at him. This started in a water fight where I ended up grabbing the hose and turning it on getting him wet, he then grabbed it getting both of us wet and then went to tickle me so I ran away screaming into his living room where he tackled me to the ground, laying on top of me, panting slightly.

I looked up at him, into his honey brown eyes, and felt my heart miss a beat. His face softened slightly as he took in our positions before leaning down towards mine. I felt his breath hit my lips and closed my eyes slowly, his nose brushed against mine softly before the telephone ran causing us to jump. He quickly got off me and ran towards the phone picking it up instantly.

“Hello? Yeah hey man,” He greeted. “Yeah I just fed her, we’ll be heading over to hers in like 5,” William shrugged after a pause. I sat up and stared at him, he mouthed ‘Patrick’ to me answering my unasked question. “Yeah ok... no I haven’t seen Jenn,” He said again. “I’ll let you know if I do,” William nodded before pulling the phone away from his ears and pressing end. “Come on I’ll lend you some clothes to get you to yours in,” He gestured for me to follow him before walking back towards the bedroom.

I got up and followed him, past the room I slept in, and into a similar coloured room, only this one was well lived in. “Here,” He said placing a pile of clothes into my hands before exiting the room.

I sighed but proceeded to change, pausing as his shirt went over my head to take a deep breath; inhaling his sent. When I was changed I exited his room to see him holding out a bag with my clothes in it. “You’re extensions are in a Ziploc bag in here,” He mumbled. He then slipped his shoes on, and I mine before walking down in awkward silence towards the elevator.

“So are we just going to pretend nothing happened back there?” I asked once we got in, we were the only occupants in the mirrored elevator.

“Nothing happened,” He grunted.

“Fine what almost happened,” I huffed. He shrugged before looking up at the numbers expectantly. Oh this isn’t over Beckett I thought to myself. I took his wrist in my hand, tugging slightly to get him to look at me.

“What?” He asked before I stood on my tiptoes and pressed my lips against his. He stumbled back slightly surprised before his arms wrapped around my waist pulling me close, and my arms around his neck. He pressed his lips hard against me, before I opened his mouth.

We pulled apart at the ding of the elevator to see we were on the ground floor. He took my hand a smile on his face before led me outside to the parking lot where I recognized his Honda Civic. Before he opened the car he pressed me against the side and connected our lips again, they moved in sync as his hand trailed up and down my sides, as my fingers tangled in his brown locks. He pulled away breathing heavily smiling down at me, he chuckled before pecking my lips and unlocking the door. He stood there watching my chest rise and fall as he cupped my face. “Um, would you like to go out tonight?” He asked.

“Yeah, sure,” I nodded pecking his lips again. He smiled before nodding and letting go of me and going to the other side of the car. I bit my lip to hold in a girly squeal as I opened the door and jumped into the car.

“Where to?” He asked as he started the engine, I smiled at him before telling him my address and he sped off.

When we got to my apartment I was surprised at first that Jenn wasn’t home, but then remembered Patrick didn’t know where she was either. I frowned slightly at the thought where could she be? “I’m gunna go change... you can wait here,” I smiled at him before walking towards my bedroom. I was changing when I heard the door open and slight conversation from William and Jenn. A smile spread over my lips upon hearing her voice, and I exited my room to see her walking down the hallway. “Hey,” I greeted her.

“Hi,” She mumbled, trying to force a smile.

“Where were you?” I asked worriedly.

“I’ll tell you later, I’m going to shower then sleep my headache off,” She muttered slightly.

“Of course,” I nodded hugging her tightly, “But I want a real talk when I get back and you’re awake,” I said sternly. She nodded sadly “Babes don’t worry, I’m always more understanding than Rick,” I winked causing her to giggle slightly before she paused.

“Where are you going Miss Meghan?” She raised an eyebrow at me.

“Um, on a date...” I bit my lip.

“With William?” She smirked. I nodded my head quickly “And without hair extension?” She gasped playfully.

“Yes,” I sighed. “I’ll be back,” I smiled.

“Go have fun,” She nodded, a slight smile on her lips.

I hugged her again before running to the living room where William was seated. “Let’s go, she’s gunna sleep so best go now,” I whispered bouncing slightly. He chuckled before taking my hands and we left the apartment.
