Xiomara POV:

"Xiomara." my mom called

"Yeah mom."

" Your father and I want to to you."

" What in the world do they want now." I asked myself

She walked down the spiral stair case to the living room where her parents were, and sat across from them on the couch.

"Xiomara we have something to tell you" my father said

" You are engaged." her parents said

" WHAT !!!" Xiomara yelled so loud that her voice echoed through her small mansion

" Who, what, when, why ?"

"Why, why would you ever do this to me.'" she sobbed out

"Carlos Santiago,since you were born, and since his parents and your mother and I are best friends we thought that it would be best to keep the friendship in both family's. So we decided in high school that when your mother and I had a daughter and when Carlo s's parents had a son that they will marry" her father explained simply

" Oh so just because my parents and his parents are best friends I'm being tied to marry Carlos Santiago? "

" Yes, and your going to marry him if you like it or not and next year after your 15th birthday." my father said

" Why are you doing this to me." I asked and then dropped to the ground her whole body shaking as she cried,sobbed, and screamed in head in her hands

" We are doing this because we love you ." I heard my mother say

" If you loved me you would let me fall in love and marry the man that I want to marry, even though my own parents fell in love and got married. Why won't you let me do the same?"

" Like your mother said it's because we love you that were doing this. Carlo s's family loves you, they have the money to take care of you. Xiomara he's also your best friend , you've known each other since birth. We made sure that you 2 became good friends so that when you turned 15 and marry that it wouldn't be awkward." my father said

" You know that we love you." my mother said

" You guys don't love me you never did you treated me as if i wasn't even you daughter, and I've tried so hard for years to get straight A's for you guys and what do I get from my father a so your not so dumb, and a great from my mother. I don't even know if I can call you father you sent me to the hospital in a comma, and never went to anything at my school not even my graduation. Do you guys have any idea how bad you guys make me feel." I yelled

" We're sorry but your still getting married." my mother said

Just as Xiomara was about to say something the door bell rang her father got up to answer it. Xiomara heard her father say hello to someone then heard a familiar voice say Hello Mr.Oliveras, she heard the door shut and then footsteps.

Then she heard the same voice say hello Senora Oliveras. Xiomara looked up to see the one and only Carlos Santiago.

Then she saw her father and heard him ask" Carlos how did you get here so fast?"

"Oh, Mr. Oliveras, I took one of my family's private jets." Carlos said

Carlos then walked over to where Xiomara was sitting and sat next to her

"Hello Xiomara." Carlos said

I turned towards Carlos and said " are we engaged?"

"Yes Xiomara we are."

" How long have you known."

" A year."

" What why didn't you tell me!!" I yelled

" I'm sorry, but every time you came to Puerto Rico, you had a boyfriend and seemed happy, but then when ever you would break up with your current boyfriend and you would call me you seemed so sad and depressed I couldn't tell you, so i thought that your parents should tell you. Then they called me this morning and told me that they were gonna tell you about the engagement so i called the airport told them to ready one of the jets and now I'm here" Carlos said smiling

Xiomara stood up and said " I have a boyfriend I love him and he loves me so now I have to break up with him because of the engagement, you have no idea how hard that's gonna be for me Carlos."

Xiomara looked around she clearly looked sad, and looked like was going to cry.Then she silently started to cry into her hands covering her face. Carlos the walked over to Xiomara pulled her into hug gently moved her hands from her face and said " I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry Xiomara. Your right i don't know how hard it's going to be for you." Carlos said

" You should have told me Carlos then I never would have fallen in love with my boyfriend, I never would have let it go so far."

After she finished her statement she pulled away from Carlos walked to her front door opened the door and sat on her front porch,and buried her face in her hands. Carlos looked at her walk away and then decided to go after her. He opened the door and sat next to her.

"Xiomara" Carlos said
