Please, Help Me

Chapter 2

She dreamt she was in a forest. Leaves covered the ground, flecks of light shone through the canopy overhead. Mist floated slightly, making the light cast swirls of gold and silver everywhere. She walked, bare foot, through the canvas and to a small flowing stream. She crouched, folding the long black skirt under her and looked into the water. The reflection of her shone back at her.
“Why choose me? There’s nothing special about me…” She whispered, touching the water gently.
‘No, nothing at all.’
She was normal. Just…normal. Nothing put her out of that category.
She stared at the reflection. Brown hair, green eyes, pale skin. Normal girl. Yet she was chosen for that curse.
“But why me?” Her hand brushed the surface of the water, making it ripple, and the reflection melted away.
“Why did you choose me!” She cried in annoyance.

A twig snapped, the sound coming from behind her. She stood and turned to face him.
“We’ll get through it together, I promise. Just you and me, nothing will stop us.”
“It can’t be stopped anyway…” she murmured.
