Build Your Fence

Fame changes people and not always for the best.

If you let me I could,
I'd show you how to build your fences,
Set restrictions, separate from the world.
The constant battle that you hate to fight,
Just blame the limelight.

The way he puffs on his cigarette, rides his skateboard up and down the street, there is no way I can control the way he still pulls on my heartstrings. He was always there for me, but the booze and limelight all got to his head.

Don't look up
Just let them think
There's no place else
You'd rather be.

There's still a part of me that wants to help him get his life straightened out. Yet I can’t wait for him to crash and burn.

And now you can't turn back
Because this road is all you'll ever have.
