I'll Lose Myself in Anguish for Tonight

Lina ended up telling Corey every detail. Except for the one about her cutting issues. Seriously, she was 22! How stupid would it sound to tell her best guy friend that she was cutting mostly because of some psycho who had messed with her head and kidnapped her best friend?

"I really appreciate your complete honesty with me, Lina. And I will definitely help you figure out what to do about it, because Alice is going to lose her life if we don't intervene. And I really don't want it to come to that. But for now, it's getting late, so we'll do something about it tomorrow." Corey walked Lina to his room.

"Are you sure that I can stay here tonight? You don't mind?"

“Of course, it's absolutely no bother." He took a step closer to her.

Corey, at this point, was really close to Lina. So she gave him a hug. As she pulled her face away from his neck, their eyes locked, and they kissed. Lina thought that moment would last forever. Of course, it had to end sometime. A moment later, they pulled away. Here came the awkward moment.

"So..." Lina questioned.

"So... Right! You can sleep here." He pointed to his bed.

"Hey, will you stay until I fall asleep?" Lina said, with puppy dog eyes.

"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Corey responded, beaming.

Lina hopped into the bed, cheered up a little. That kiss had been amazing beyond words. Corey followed her, sitting on top of the comforter, right beside her.

"Everything is going to be alright, Lina." He said lovingly.

"Thanks for everything, Corey." She cuddled closer to him.

And they fell asleep in each other's arms.
