I Can Feel You All Around Me

"Yeah, he said that he pulled away for his own reasons. That's it. He said nothing was wrong with me." Emma sat on the edge of her bed. Glaring me down. We were back at the orphanage and we were pretty tired, but Emma insisted on questioning me on the previous night. The sun was about to come up, so we only had a little bit of time. "Christine! He could have felt your teeth! Seriously, you think he doesn't know?" I shrugged. She stood up and sighed. "Fine, but if I were you, I would be careful around him. We don't want to look suspicious." I nodded. She flopped onto her bed. "And this is what I get for helping a human. I looked over at her. "Why DID you help me? I mean eventhough we were friends for a very long time, I still don't know why you helped me." She didn't look me in the eye. She didn't respond either. "Well??" She looked at me, a sour look was on her face. "Does it matter?" I nodded. "To me it does." She grabbed her pillow, punched it a few times and rolled over. She muttered something like, "Code, promise, friend, unimportant." She ddn't say anything else. Maybe she had a few deep dark secrets of her own.
