Promise Not to Break My Little Heart or Leave Me All Alone

I walk into my classroom, still a little shocked about the things that had happened yesterday. I sat and just stared on the board as I waited for my classmates and the teacher to enter.

“Hey Natasha!” I hear Christine greet me

I have a feeling that Christine is just being nice to me because I knew Ryan.

“Hey” I said back

“So, what’s up with you? Is Ryan coming today?” she asked happily

I knew it.

“I don’t know. I am not really close to him you know.” I sigh

“Really? He said yesterday that you were close friends” she muttered

“Well, we were. Not anymore” I told her as the teacher entered

I hate this. Now people are talking to me just because I know him. He’s not even supposed to show up here. He’s supposed to be in my past already, long forgotten. But why was he in my present again?

I couldn’t concentrate in class. My mind was still stuck with what I found out yesterday. It’s weird to have a friend and not even knowing that he was famous. It feels strange. Why didn’t he tell me?

The class finally ended and I continue to sit on my chair, not really knowing what else I can do to forget about what happened yesterday. For all I know, Ryan isn’t gonna go back anymore.

I slowly walked along the corridors still in deep thought.

I was startled when I felt a hand on my shoulders.

“Sorry if I scared you” I hear a familiar voice again

“Ryan what are you doing here?’ I ask with my eyes shut

“Because of you. I told you I am not stopping until you let me explain myself

“Is this the girl man? She’s really pretty” I hear someone say behind me

Without delay I turn around and saw an extremely recognizable face. I think I saw him from the pictures I saw yesterday when I discovered that Ryan wasn’t just an ordinary person.

“Who are you?” I ask the guy

“This is really funny man. She’s asking me who I am. I like her” the guy laughed

Ryan chuckled and shook his head

“He’s my best friend—Brendon” Ryan told me

“Oh, so what are you guys doing here?”

“I am here because Ryan needed someone to come with him. You know, to give a little support from his loyal friend” Brendon said “And also to attract the girls away from him. Looked like Ryan here caught the attention of a lot of girls yesterday.” He added

“Stop talking Brendon” Ryan lightly smacked his shoulder

“Oh right” Brendon nodded

“Please, come with me this time?” Ryan looked at me and pouted

I just look at them for a while. Should I come with him now? Maybe I should hear him out first. It’s a little unfair to not listen to him right?

“Come on, just come with him and listen to his explanation please? He’s been really down ever since we saw him again” The Brendon guy told me

“Man, you don’t need to say that” Ryan told Brendon with an irritated voice

“She needs to know how much you suffered as well dude.”

“Okay. I’ll come” I sigh. He looked really sincere in asking for forgiveness and all I can do is listen to him.

“Really?” Ryan’s eyes lightened up

“Yeah” I nodded

He smiled wider

“You’re not going to regret this” he whispered to me and then held my hand, leading me somewhere

I let him hold my hand and bring me wherever he wished. He needs to give me a sensible justification.
