I Called.
"You know that movie where John Cusack plays a guy who owns a record store with Jack Black and another guy?"
"Yeah, we watched it once."
"You remember the first line? 'What came first-'"
"'The music or the misery?' Yeah."
"I think they're one and the same," she pauses, rubs her arm with the palm of her hand.
"At least it is with you."
A furrowed brow.
"With you, the music is the misery. Without the misery, there would be no music. Without the music, there would be no misery."
"Then what does that make me?"
"The musician."
"Yeah, we watched it once."
