Part One: Childhood Friends
The first nine years of Murtagh's life were spent in lonliness, being scorned and spited by all of those around him. The only person he could call friend was his mentor, Tornac, who provides as both a teacher and father figure for Murtagh.
This is all true until he meets Meredith, a girl who knows exactly how he feels. The two children form a close friendship, the first Murtagh has ever had. But what is Meredith trying so desperatly to hide from him? And where did she get those scars of hers?
