The Beautiful ***er

A murder of a young man was in news. Anna smiled, fascinated by the sight rather than afraid. The reporter exaggerates everything, she thought.

She had seen murders and killings in movies. The world is so cruel, messy and impure. Murder is the price for all of it. Death is the only way.

But it was real now. It happened in real time. Anna thought she heard cries of agony and the sight of blood all over the place. She peered closely on the T.V. and started humming an unmelodious song.

She hugged herself, and rocked on the chair.
