My Fake Romance

My Fake Romance -26-

It's been 3 years since I have heard or seen Gerard up close. Why I left? I don't want someone like him to fall in love or get attached to some random girl. He can do better. He needs better. It was for the best, for both of us. He helped me get away from my crazy family. I'm currently living in Berkly, California. Far away from Gerard, Bert, my family and even my Bert and Charlotte. I always check the news and papers. They still look for me. But at least it's dying down a bit. My whole look has changed also. I grew my hair out and dyed it a darker brown with a few blonde streaks. When I had short hair, I almost got caught by the guys, 5 times. They'd look at me and a bus or a crowd of people would go by and I'd dissapper but I still saw them. They looked confused and very sad.

As I sit in a coffeeshop called, Night-wait , my brand new cellphone in my hand, starring at the number on the screen. Guess whos?...Yep, Gerards number. I've been doing this for the past year, decideing if I should call or keep starring like a idiot. I close up my phone, putting it in my pocket, drink the last of my frappacino and get up, leaving the pay on the table. My artwork, which I have been paiting and selling on the streets, has given me enough money for a phone, apartment, rent and a car. A nice car. I get in, turning it on, letting the end of 'Cemetery Drive' softly flow through the car. I pull out my phone again, turning to Gerards number and pressing dial. Yep. I've decide I should at least let him know I'm still alive. I also need to just get enough courage to get it off my chest. The phone stops ringing and there's a seconds pause, and I hear his voice. The voice I've missed for such a long time.

"If your a fan, hang up right away"

He obviously has heard the music playing. I don't hang up and the song changes to, Right here waiting, by Staind.

I hear him deeply exhale and he says, "M-Mia?"

I sniff as a few tears flow down my face.

"Oh my god...this better not be some prank from..."

A small sob escapes my throat and I say shakily, "I'm so sorry..."

"N-no please! Don't hang-"

I close my phone quickly and stare out my windshield crying. And as the phone went dead on his line, he knows I'm gone forever...
