Purple Hayze

The next morning was stressful. I couldn't get up out of bed from being so tired, and Iris was lightly snoring in her bundle of pillows being her cradle for the time being. Eliot had been awake hours before and as he slowly walked into the room, so not to wake Iris, he got into the bed and I huddled up to him. He gently kissed my forehead and then hummed to me a lovely little tune that made me feel warm and tingley inside. Soon enough Iris was humming along and it was a beautiful choir in my room as I layed there, huddled into Eliot's side.
When my alarm clock rang at two in the afternoon, I found myself more awake but still a tad weak. Eliot was sitting by Iris when I sat up slowly, they were both humming softly with each other and I thought of how weird it was that they had connected so instantly, and that she was much bigger then any normal new born baby would have been.

"Hey baby" Eliot whispered as he turned to me,

I smiled, my cheeks blushing as he called me 'baby'. Iris' eyes turned to me, her face lit up with the most cutest smile ever,

"Mummy!" she screeched, her arms waving around everywhere, almost hitting Eliot at times.

He chuckled as did I before he took hold of her and brang her to the bed. She sat on my lap and started playing with my hair as I watched her, smiling for being so happy,

"I told Mary that your going to be very tired for the next few weeks. I explained to her about Iris being bigger then usual, but she says that she understands. She is worried about you though, and the fact now you've had Iris you may have to find a place of your own...but you don't have to worry, I'm going to look after you, I'm not leaving your side ever baby...I love you" he whispered the last bit,

I looked at him and felt his lips touch mine. Iris giggled and hiding her face behind her tiny hands. We smiled in the kiss then looked down at her,

"Oh do you want kissies??" I chuckled,

she smiled and giggled, then made her lips like she wanted someone to kiss them. I lent down and kissed her tiny lips gently, she giggled and hide her face behind her hands again, then waved her hands around, hitting Eliot on his arm. He lent down and kissed her head, she giggled again and then grabbed hold of her feet, she started swinging forward and backwards, her little smile glowing with excitment.
A knock at the door made us all jump. Eliot stood up and walked towards the door, he opened it slightly and then smiled to whoever it was,

"Come in" he smiled,

Mary's head came poking around the corner, her eyes scanning the room was ok for her to enter,

"Hey darling, I thought I'd come and see how you are..." she said, then her eyes landed on Iris, "You weren't joking about her being bigger huh Eliot"he chuckled as did I. Iris turned around to face Mary as she slowly walked over to the bed. She huddled into me, almost scared of Mary,

"Iris hunni, it's ok. Mary is a nice lady, she looked after me and still does" I whispered, Iris' eyes watching my lips,

she came out of hiding slightly and then held her hand up to Mary. Mary giggled and tickled Iris' palm gently, Iris pulling it back to her, giggling at how much it tickled.

Iris got comfy to Mary after a few hours of watching her every move. She sat on Mary's lap and started waving her arms around, happy and smiling.
Eliot sat next to me as we watched Mary's eyes light up to just have a little one around again. She had been so tied up with all the older kids that live here, that she didn't have time to have a family of her own.
Iris' eyes started to fall, she must have been so tired for playing with Mary it was cute when she lent forward on Mary and started snoring. We all giggled quietly as Eliot picked her up and snuggled her into her bundle of cusions and pillows,

"She's beautiful darling, I'll be right on it if you two ever want to go out one day. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you two went and enjoyed yourself, she can come and play downstairs or something" Mary giggled as she gave me a hug and kissed the top of my head,

"That would be great Mary" I replied, feeling really tired myself.

Eliot tucked Iris in and then walked Mary out of the room. He closed the door quietly then walked to the bed and moved under the covers. I huddled up to him, feeling so safe in his arms,

"I love you Eliot" I whispered, yawning slightly at the end,

"I love you too Alessia" he whispered back, I could hear the smile in his face.

He lent down and kissed the top of my head. I closed my eyes slowly and relax, as his soft humming floated around the room, Iris' snoring becoming the humming tune also. It felt so magical and just amazing to have a lovely family...I said that again in my head, just to make it sound right,

I have my own little family.
