Tell Me How You Love Me Now

It has been a week ever since that thing happened. I don’t even know what to call it. Maybe we were just bonding, as friends. It’s good that we talk without fighting now.

I see Luke while I walk along the hallway. I catch up to him.

“Hey, what’s up?” I smile to him

“Nothing really. I have practice later.” He sighed

“Really?”

“Yeahp. But, you know I didn’t forget about Saturday. You promised”

“Yes, of course I remember. Where are we going?”

“Hmmm, it’s a surprise”

“I kinda don’t like surprises you know”

“That’s why it’s a surprise. See you around!” he said, patting my head

“That’s unfair!” I shouted after him

He just waved as he walked away. He is seriously cute. I mean his black hair and height. He is so tall. I really have a thing with cute and tall guys. I was smiling by myself when someone tapped my shoulder.

“You look like an idiot smiling by yourself, you know that right?” I hear Elliot whisper to my ear

I was surprised, causing me to jump a little. The whisper was just… I don’t know. It made me feel something I can’t explain.

“Why the heck did you startle me like that?!” I yell at him, and walked away, not waiting for an answer

“Did you just say “heck”?” he laughed following me

“Yes, I did. What’s wrong with that?” I snapped at him, still walking

“Ever since you came here, you never used slang language like heck or hell. You also never cursed” he said

“Well, I do now.” I roll my eyes at him

“Why?”

“What why?” I asked impatiently

“Why don’t you curse or use slang language?”

“I wasn’t brought up that way. But I think I am getting bad influence from you now.” I glared at him as he continued following me

“At least you use normal teenager language now it’s kinda weird that you didn’t curse before”

“Whatever. Why are you even following me Elliot?”

“What? What’s wrong with hanging out with my friend?”

“Okay.” I stopped in front of my locker and opened it

“So… you were talking to Luke?” he suddenly asked after a few minutes

“Yup. He reminded me of the date on Saturday. As if I’ll forget about that” I laugh absentmindedly. Every time I think of Luke, it just makes me happy.

“Oh. Okay” Elliot said

“What? What’s with the face?”

“Nothing. I… I just remembered now, I have to d something. I’ll see you later” he said, and walked the opposite direction

This is just one of the random mood swings of Elliot. I think I am getting used to it already to ignore it.

“So, what’s your plan on Saturday?” Cassadee asked me while we and the guys ate lunch

“Oh, well, I am just going out with Luke” I mumble

“What do you mean just going out? Like, you know, aren’t you planning on what to wear or something?” she asked happily

“Oh yeah. I guess so” I said

“I’ll help you. It looks like you’re lost”

“Oh. No. Cass is helping Kay.” Jersey suddenly spoke

“That’s not good” Alex added

“What’s wrong with that?” I ask

“See, Cass has her own taste in clothing. Taste that only matches herself. Sometimes it doesn’t look good on other people” Mike whispered

“Hey! I can work on Kay. She looks like she can wear anything. She’s not as bad as other girls out there” Cass announced “Righ Elliot? Isn’t she pretty?”

Elliot suddenly snapped his head up and nodded

“What? That’s not a very believable answer. She is pretty yes or no?” Cass asked again

He turned his head to face me and looked at me for a good five seconds

“Yeah, yeah she is pretty” he nodded

“See!” Cass yelled at the other guys.

It felt awkward because Elliot never took his eyes off of me after that. It made me feel conscious of myself again.
