I grudgingly woke up because of the noises I heard.
“Hey there” I hear Luke say to me
“Hey” I said, my voice cracking a bit from sleeping
“The movie just finished. We kinda watched three movies and you slept through all of it” he smiled while saying it
“Oh? Really? Wow” I said, getting up
I saw the three guys playing catch.
“Where’s Cass?”
“She already left just minutes ago to help her parents with Christmas Eve dinner”
“Oh, yeah” I mumble scratching my eyes a little
“I better get going myself. I just waited for you to wake up” he said, standing up as well
“Oh, okay. What time is it anyway?”
“Five thirty”
I nodded
“I’ll walk you out” I tell him
“I’ll be going already guys” Luke announced and held my hand
“Oh, see ya around then!” Mike said back
“Bye man” Alex shouted
Of course all Elliot did was look at both of us. I felt a little strange when I noticed that he was looking straight at me and Luke’s intertwined hands.
“Let’s go’ I whisper to Luke
“By guys” he waved at all of them and then we were out the room
We both slowly walk out the basement.
“It’s Christmas tomorrow” Luke said
“Yup. It is” I said happily
“It is the first Christmas that I actually have a girlfriend” he said
“Really? Wow.” Was all I can say.
I mean, Luke does make me happy but sometimes I think that I don’t really feel so much passion with him. He makes me smile when I am around him but then that’s it. Maybe I made a mistake agreeing to be his girlfriend.
“You are… happy about us right?” he asked me probably seeing my blank face
“Yeah of course I am happy with you” I laughed. Okay. The laugh was fake. I never knew I can fake a laugh until now.
He looked at me for a second and nodded.
“I hope so” he whispered
We were about to walk out the door when I looked up and noticed a mistletoe. Luke looked up seeing me looking up.
“Mistletoe” he chuckled
“Yeah. I guess this means we hav-“
I wasn’t able to finish my sentence because of his lips colliding with mine. It caught me off guard causing me to jump a bit. He continued pressing his lips on mine as he held my waist drawing me nearer to his body. I kissed back and held him closer by coiling my hands around his neck. The kiss got deeper and from just a peck, it turned to a tongue wrestling. I’d say that we were making out already except that we were only kissing…for a long time. All he kissed was my lips, nothing more. No neck, shoulder or face kissing what so ever. We both pulled away, gasping for breath.
“Merry Christmas in advance” he whispered to me
“Merry Christmas” I said softly back
“I better get going now. Bye” he smiled at me and went out.
The cool breeze that came in the house when he opened the door helped me cool down. I feel kinda hot now. I leaned against the table by the door and took deep breathes. The kiss, no matter how amazing of a kisser he was, didn’t make me feel anything at all. I thought that if I ever get kissed like that, I’d feel amazingly elated and happy but I don’t feel anything close to that. It was like, it’s just a kiss and after the kiss, that’s it. I actually don’t feel anything. I don’t feel bad or good. I don’t even know if not feeling anything after getting kissed like that is a good sign.
“I guess you are trying to catch your breath now huh?”
I jumped a mile when I heard Elliot’s voice from the darkness
“Elliot? What are you doing there?” I asked startled
“I went to get some water” he answered finally getting into clear view
“How… how long have you been standing there?” I ask nervously
“You really wanna know?” he asked back
“Actually… no, I don’t so just forget about that question” I mumbled and immediately walked pass him
He grabbed my arm
“Wait…”
I turn around to face him
“Are you really sure about- about him?”
“What do you mean?”
“Do you really like him?”
“Ye-yeah, sure” I answered
He nodded and let go of my arm
“Don’t worry, I’ll pretend like nothing happened” he muttered and proceeded to the kitchen
Mike and Alex eventually left the house already. Beth along with Diane and Carl went back from grocery shopping. It was good that I and Elliot weren’t alone for long. I honestly feel more awkward with him after kinda knowing that he saw me and Luke kiss.
It is embarrassing and strange for him to see it.
