Madeline Garver has left her pack of vicious vampires and werewolves to go to no one knows where, and she has left the two most important things she has in life with the two beings that mean the most to her. She has been gone for nearly sixteen years and her twins are trying to survive without her.

Autumn Rose Garver, aka Rosie, is living with T.J Hanson. In case you have forgotten, T.J is Maddie's favorite werewolf, and she couldn't have asked for a better guardian of her daughter. Rosie is mostly human, only she has vampire hearing, vision, and speed. She tries not to show off to much, but sometimes T.J makes her. Rosie goes to a normal high school, and she knows her Aunt Lydia but she's never met her father or her uncle. But the one she wonders most about is her mother. She can't help but to feel hatred for her mother's abandonment. The biggest secret in Rosie's life, is the secret that T.J pleads with Kegan to keep from her. It's the secret of her brother's existence.

Leonardo Vincent Garver Vaara, aka Leo, is living with his father, Kegan Vaara. Kegan, as you all know, was Maddie's boyfriend/fiancee before she left. Leo could have grown up a little better, but his father tries, although Kegan can barely stand to look at him because of how much he resembles his mother. Leo goes to a special school for special children, those children just happen to be vampires and werewolves and whatever else you can imagine. He has limited vampire abilities, but unlike his sister he needs blood, just not as much as his father and aunt and uncle. Leo knows both his aunt Lydia, and his uncle Regan. He knows who his mother is, and he tries hard not to think about her because Kegan has told him that Maddie died in a terrible accident. Kegan couldn't look Leo in the eye and tell him that his own mother left him because she was afraid for his human sister's life. Kegan could even bring himself to tell him about Rosie.

Will Rosie ever find out about Leo? Will Leo ever know the truth? Will they be able to have a relationship together? But remember the most important question, how can they possibly find happiness in their mixed up worlds?
