Happily Never After Could Happen to Us

Surprises And Blame

Leo

I couldn't help but to wonder what Michael had told Rosie, or what she might have already known. I just prayed she didn't tell anyone because if they found out, well, it wouldn't be good for Michael.

When I saw them come back I closed my door. I knew it wouldn't be something I wanted to hear, but I needed to talk to Rosie. I needed to make sure she under stood. I sighed as I heard footstep walk down the hall. I quickly walked out of my room and into hers. She was watching the door as if waiting for me. I opened my mouth, but before I had the chance to say anything she spoke.

"Don't worry Leo. I swear I won't be the one that says anything about his existance, however, I can't promise his mother's broken heart won't give him away," she sighed.

"What are you talking about," I questioned almost harshly.

"He told me a story, and he said you already knew about it. The prophecy," she explained slowly, "could be about us."

"No, Rosie, that is not us. I can't see the past, and you can't," I was explaining but she cut me off.

"I can see the future. I know about the divorce that Michael's parents are going to go through with, and I know how hurt his mom is going to be," she stated bluntly.

"Well, that's just you, I can't see the past," I hissed.

"Try," she growled as she put her hands in mind.

An aura raidated off of her, but I couldn't tell if it was our vampire strenght linked together or if she was right about the past and future. She closed her eyes and I followed her example. Flashes of light shot past my eyelids like lightening. I didn't know what was happening, but it was fascinating.

A flash of light began slowing down as we came to it. It was brilliant in color, and the it stopped as if it were a picture frozen in time. It was a photo from when Rosie and I were mere babies.

My fangs had appeared as I was planted into my mother's arms. Her smell was too sweet, and I was so young. I had no self control at all, and I really didn't want to, but the thirst won over me. I found a vein in her chest, and as soon as she hugged be tighter I sunk my teeth into her fragile skin. The warm goo hit my mouth and it was like heaven. The suddenly ice started touching me, or more like ice cold hands. My fangs retracted without my permission and I was back in dad's arms. Mom looked scared and shaken up all at once, and I could hear her thought from the past. "I can't leave her here, but I can't choose," she thought to her self as she glanced a Rosie and then back to me. She took Rosie from T.J and walked outside with some muffled words.

"You're the reason mom left," I whispered as I watched the scene in front of me.

"No, I'm the reason she came back," Rosie whispered. I suddenly wondered what she had seen, but I didn't want to ask.

I released her hands, and she backed away from me smiling. I couldn't help but to stare at her. She was the future, and I was the past. This can't be happening. We just got started in all of this, and Rosie was supposed to be more human than vampire. It wasn't fair that she gained all of this power and knowledge in one night, but then again maybe that's why she was the future.

"Alright children, lights out. You have a big day," Madison called from down the hall. Both Rosie turned away from each other, her with her smile, and be with my confusion, and walked into our rooms. I didn't know about Rosie, but I knew I wasn't going to have a good night.
