You Belong With Me

~~Nat's P.O.V~~

I got to my locker looking for my locker buddy, Kristen. I didn't see her so I took all my stuff out of my locker, cleaning it out. We were supposed to clean this a few months ago, when I found out my iPod got lost in there. So now I have the iPod Touch, but I think it's lost in there too.

I started humming The Best Day, and eventually started singing it.

“I don't know why, all the trees change in the fall. I know you're not scared, of anything at all,” I sang quietly. I saw some girls walking to the hallway so I stopped cautiously.

I finally saw Kristen walking to our locker.

“You cannot guess what happened!” she shrieked and I stared at her like if she was going crazy.

“Umm, you, uh, I give up.” she laughed and I rolled my eyes.

“Nick told me he loved me!”

I stared at her again with the same expression.

“Eh?”

“Nick-told-me-” I stopped her walking away with my bag. “Nat!”

I turned around to look at her and sighed.

“You don't get it.”

“Get what? That you're jealous that Joe didn't say he loved you?”

I stared at her in disbelief.

“What?!”

“You-are-jealous, was that slow enough, or do you want me to go slower?”

I bit my lip angrily. What happened to my best friend?

“No that was slow enough, but I'm not stupid.”

“You're acting like it. C'mon, he likes me!”

“No he doesn't! He likes Lola too! It wouldn't only be you he likes! It always has to be another girl. Get that?”

I walked away angrily, leaving the school.

I knew she answered my question, but I didn't hear it, and I hardly even cared. She got on my nerves. She said I was JEALOUS. Me, jealous? Those words don't mix in a sentence.

I saw Kevin walking to his car and I ran to him.

“Hey Nat, want a ride?”

“Hey Kevin, yeah sure.”

I got into the car and sighed. Kevin looked back at me and Danielle opened the car door close to me. She got inside and sat down.

“What's wrong Nat?” Danielle asked reading my face.

“Kristen.”

“What's wrong with her?”

“Well, Nick, grr, AH!”

“Wow, very, detail ish,” Kevin said driving.

I told them the whole story and they parked in front of my house.

“I think I should tell everyone my secret.”

“What why?” Kevin asked getting out of the car.

“Because of drama, I thought this would've helped, but it made it worst.”

“But, Hayley is a part of you,” Danielle stated. “you can't let her go.”
