Sequel: Black Rose

Statues Without Eyes

Training and Finding Out

"Thank you, Sylar, you just broke the case," My dad nodded at me as I smiled since I really felt like I did a good job at breaking the case now.

I skipped, literally back through the lab as Natalia smirked at me for a second.

"Someone's in a good mood."
"I broke the case," I smiled at her, "It's weird, I didn't think I'd miss work that much."
"Maybe it's because you can get away from a crying baby," She laughed.
"As annoying as it can be, I miss Tyler too."
"Good thing Alexx could watch him huh?"
"Yeah," I sighed with a smile, "Poor Alexx though, Tyler's a fussy kid."
"Takes after his dad then huh?" She smirked.
"Oh my god yes," I nodded as I was totally agreeing with her now, "He's only been home for three days but those two are so much like, it's scary."
"How come?" Natalia laughed.
"Well for one if Tyler doesn't get his way, he pouts, cries, throws a fit. Which I've seen Ryan do some many times."
"Now you just need to have a girl so Tyler can have a baby sister."
"Don't put ideas in his head," I shot her a look as I looked at her, "First I want to loose all this weight, then get back into the swing of things."
"What if it happened sooner than expected?"
"Then it does," I shrugged as she smiled at me.

Over the next couple days, I had been back at work while doing the training that Angelo had told me to come for at midnight. I usually snuck out at night when Ryan was dead asleep which wasn't hard to do since he spent so much time playing with Tyler like I did but I always found that second wind by midnight. This night in particular though, I didn't realize that Ryan had noticed me being gone, in which he followed me that night. He had Kyle come over as soon as I left to watch Tyler until he got back.

Training was going smooth as usual and I could feel the pounds slowly starting to shed off over time I usually spent two hours training in this basement with kick boxing, a punching back, weapons training, everything. Ryan had somehow gotten into the building in which he was trying to hide but I knew he was there.

"You do know Ryan followed you right?"Angelo asked while holding the punching bag.
"I know," I nodded, "I just don't want to hear his lecture now. And I so told you he would suspect something."
"You better hope he's understanding," He smiled as I kicked the punching bag again.

By time, I got out of the building, I stopped as I knew Ryan was right behind me.
"You should trust me, you know," I looked at him, "I'd never cheat on you."
"What are you doing here? And who was that?"
"That is Angelo, one of the reasons I'm still alive and I'm training."
"Training? For what?" He crossed his arms at me as he waited for an explanation.
"I can't tell you," I looked at him, "I want to but there's some things that you can't know, shouldn't know."
"That's not a good reason Sylar!"
"I'm protecting you and Tyler, ok?" I snapped back, "Sorry it was so secretive and what not but it was for your own good."
"Protect us from what?" Ryan asked as my shoulders slumped.
"Things that are bigger than the whole Crime Lab and police force. I just don't want anything to happen to the two of you."
"You know, you can always come to me," Ryan sighed as he ran his hands up and down my arms,
"I know," I nodded, "Can we just go home?"
"Yeah," He smiled as he pulled me into his arms as we walked to our cars.
"Hey who's watching Tyler?"
"Kyle, I asked him to come over for a bit."
"You didn't tell him anything right?" I looked at him as he stopped by my car.
"I just said there was something that I had to take care of, I didn't tell him."
"I love you," I looked at him seriously as I got in my car, "I'll see you at home."
"Meet me out at the track," Ryan nodded as I looked at him shocked.
"What?"
"Just do it," He nodded as I followed him towards the track.

I got out of the car first in which I walked up to the old dirt mounds that had fresh tracks from the practice that the boys had earlier that day. As I was standing there, watching the dark sky, Ryan walked up behind me to wrap his arms around my waist as I smiled.

"I miss this, being with you and out here."
"I know do you," I could feel his hot breath against my ear which sent chills down my spine, "We should set a wedding date."
"Are you sure?" I looked back at him, "What if you find someone else in that time?"
"And who would I find?" He smirked as I shrugged with a smile playing at my lips.
"That Erika girl?"
"God," Ryan rolled his eyes, "I can't stand her, there's no way I'd leave you for her."
"I know," I stretched back to play with his hair as he let out a soft moan, "Wow, there's a sweet spot there too."
"Shut up," He grumbled as I smirked.
"I guess I can't touch you anywhere."
"Well it's just been tough," He rested his head on my shoulder as I laughed, "Put yourself in my position."
"Gladly," I smirked at him, "That means you'd have to have had Tyler and then you'd be the one waking up every two hours or so to feed him."
"But then you wouldn't have-"
"I've gone longer," I smirked as he rolled his eyes, "Come on, let's go home. I got a feeling Kyle can't take much longer of a crying baby."

As we headed home, I wasn't prepared for what was about to happen in the next couple days.
