Sequel: Black Rose

Statues Without Eyes

A Shoulder to Cry On

"You're going to get me fired," Ryan chuckled as I pulled him out to my car to the backseat.
"Again," I smirked as he stopped me, "I'm joking. And no, I won't."
"I was on patrol, Sylar. I know what counts as breaking rules or laws," He gave me a stern look.
"Then make me behave," I whispered in his ear, biting at his ear lobe as I cralwed into the backseat, waiting for him.

I smirked as he crawled into the backseat with me as my lips atttacked his neck. Sure it wasn't the most comfortable of places to do what we were but I couldn't help it. I, honestly, couldn't wait until I got home and if it hadn't have been for taking it to the backseat, I would've pushed him into a closet and had my way with him.

As we pulled the rest of our clothes on, catching our breaths after the quickie in the backseat, Ryan let out a low groan as I looked at him.

"What?"
"We weren't safe," Ryan looked at me as I shrugged.
"It was just this once-"
"That's all it takes Sylar," Ryan shot me a look as I rolled my eyes.
"Ok, so if something comes of this, then we'll handle it. But I think you're overreacting."
"Am I?"
"You could be," I smirked at him, "But in case I'm wrong, you can say "I told you so"."
"Wow, that makes me feel better," He rolled his eyes as I smirked and kissed his cheek.
"Don't tell me, it didn't make you feel better."
"Well not the after thought but-"Ryan trailed off as I smiled again.
"You've got something on your neck Wolfe," I went to get out of the car as he checked his neck to see that it had tinted lipgloss and bite marks on his neck.
"I'll get you back Sylar," Ryan half glared as I got out of the car to give him a smile and a wave.

Walking back into the station, I was met by Jesse in which he smiled at me as I did back.

"Hey Sy, you look like you're in a better mood."
"I am," I smiled at him, "So what's up?"
"Other than I know that smirk," He smirked at me as I waited for him to explain, "You always got one for like the whole day after we-"
"Oh shut up," I rolled my eyes while playfully pushing him.
"Anyways, where's Wolfe?"
"Lunch?" I shrugged, "Why?"
"I need to take him and Walter back out into the field."
"Call him?" I shrugged while walking with Jesse as I stopped by the lab door.
"I'll do that," He paused as I looked at him, "Oh and hey, I'm glad you're ok."
"Thanks," I smiled at him feeling like a school girl for some reason.
"Oh hey, Jake invited me to watch your boys at the track tonight. You going to be there?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "It's my first actual time back with them. I'll see you there."
"Later," He waved as he seen Ryan walk down the hall and I watched as he walked away.

"Girl, stop staring and get in here," Natalia laughed as I walked back into the lab.

The rest of the day went by quickly. Soon, I was leaving early to head out to the track when I seen Eric walking to his car in which Horatio already put a note on it.

"Hey Delko," I smirked as I walked up to him as he gave me a slight smile, "I haven't seen you all day."
"I know," He sighed as I knew something was going on.
"You're leaving Miami Dade, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
"I figured," I gave him a weak smile as I tucked my hands in my pockets, "You're not leaving Miami are you?"
"I might for a while," He shrugged as he smiled a bit, "A lot happened lately."
"I know, it's just you can't leave Tyler, he's your godson."
"I know. It's just getting shot, seeing you get shot and not being able to do anything, having that kid die on me today, it's just all too much."
"But-"
"I'll still be around."
"But I need you," I looked at him now taking in what was going on, "You're my guardian angel. You can't just leave me alone."
"Hey," Eric pulled me into a hug, "I'll still be around. If you ever need anything, you call me. I'll always be there for you."
"Eric," I let the few tears in my eyes escape as I couldn't find the words to say anything to him, "Stay?"
"I'm here," He whispered as I let out all my tears when I pulled away from him a bit to wipe my eyes, "You going to be ok?"
"No," I sniffled as he wiped a tear out of the corner of my eye.
"I need you to stay strong, ok?"
"I can't-"
"Sylar."
"Ok," I nodded biting my bottom lip as he smoothed a piece of hair out of my face with a smile on his.
"I'll be back, I promise."
"But it's just with everything happening now, I need you here."
"I know," He smiled as his hands ran up and down my arms, "You have my number, I won't go far."
"Promise?"
"Promise," He smiled as he kissed my cheek lightly as I smiled through my tears, "See ya later."
"Late," I smiled as I watched him get in the car then drive off.

As I walked to my car, my tears were flowing down my face as I made my way home to feed Tyler, then head out to the track since I left Tyler with Ryan. I was able to keep my composure around Ryan but I could feel myself beginning to crack again as I made my way to the track.

Jake was coaching the boys as I wanted to get back out there but couldn't because I was still in recovery. I just stood at the fence, watching, giving them direction when I felt someone walk up beside me. Turning to see Jesse leaning against the same fence he gave me a smile.

"Hey."
"Hey," I barely got out as I frowned and he noticed.
"Bi-polar much?" He joked as I rolled my eyes.
"Jesse."
"Hey, what's wrong? "He noticed my mood as I didn't look at him but felt my tears start to fall again, "Sylar?"
I shook my head as he noticed and stood up, offering me a hand, "Come on, let's go talk."

I followed Jesse to a more private area of the track, mainly by my bike's trailer as I sat on the ramp and he joined me.

"So?"
"I miss him."
"Who?"
"Eric," I mentioned as Jesse nodded.
"Oh, I see."
"It's not like that or anything," I shook my head, "He's just saved me and watched out for me and now he's gone-"
"Oh," Jesse nodded, "Did you talk to Ryan about it?"
"Are you kidding?" I smirked, "He barely knows what Eric saved me from, I can't just open up to him like that."
"But you are going to marry him."
"I know," I sighed, "But there's just something I shared with Eric, something that wouldn't work with Ryan."
"You just look so down."
"I just need a shoulder to cry on," I half laughed as Jesse moved closer to me.
"Come here," He sighed with a smile motioning me over to him as I was uneasy at first but found myself resting my head on his shoulder, "Just let it all out."
"Thank you," I gave him a slight smile, "And I'm sorry."
"About?"
"I know why you cheated on me and I'm sorry."
"Sylar," He sighed as he rubbed my arm, "That wasn't your fault, it just wasn't meant to be."
"But you were so happy and then I-"
"Ssh, hey," He smiled as he looked down at me, "It just wasn't meant to be with us. You have a son now, granted it's with Ryan but you're happy."
"I'm sorry I couldn't give you that," I mumbled into his shoulder as I felt him tense a bit but go silent.
