Sequel: Black Rose

Statues Without Eyes

I Need a Hero

"Wake up, sweeheart," I heard being whispered into my ear as a light kiss was placed on my cheek as my eyes slowly fluttered open to be face to face with Ryan.

"Hmm, what?" I questioned as I looked at him as I stretched a bit to notice I was still around the lab, "Did we get him?"
"No," Ryan shook his head then held out his hand, "Come on, you need some rest."
"But this guy, he killed again in the park, I was too late," I rushed out as I looked around, "I messed up, miscaluated-"
"Hey, ssh," Ryan stopped me as he looked down at me with a smile on his face, "It wasn't your fault Sy, he changed his MO."
"But all those people-"
"I told H about it," He nodded, "The rest of the lab is helping."
"This isn't your fight," I yawned as Ryan still held out his hand which I took as he helped me up.
"I know but you need all the help you can get," He smiled.
"How long was I out?" I asked stretching again.
"Only an hour. Why don't you head home for a while, get some rest, spend time with Tyler and I'll met you at home around 5?" He questioned as I relectunetly nodded.
"Maybe we can order some pizza and a movie?" I shrugged.
"See, there you go," He smiled as lifted my chin quickly, "Get some rest Sylar."
"Don't be late," I smiled as I headed back to my car.

Finally getting home with Tyler, he was still awake in which I had barely any sleep in the first place which is all I wanted right now. I was busy trying to get him to fall asleep when someone was at the door. Getting up slowly, I went to open the door to find a girl standing there, dark brown hair, tall, almost model like as she looked at me.

"May I help you?" I questioned.
"You don't know me," She started, "I'm Anna."
"Anna?" I questioned as I looked at her as I half glared realizing who it was, "What do you want?"
"I want Jesse gone."
"Gone?" I questioned.
"He followed me here," She stated as I rolled my eyes.
"If memory serves, he was a CSI here long before you came here. Horatio asked him to come back."
"I figured you'd say that," She moved to get a tape out of her purse, "It's why I brought this."
"What?"
"Oh, nothing," She smirked, "Just a little tape here that will put a dent in your work and love life."
"How'd you get it?" I glared at her.
"I have my ways."
"And why are you determined to hurt me? I never did anything to you," I looked at her as she let out a sarcastic smile.
"Maybe it's because I wanted him when you had him."
"Which now, isn't making much sense," I raised an eyebrow at her, "I mean now you want him gone-"
"That's not the point," She stopped me.
"Get off my lawn," I glared as she let out a soft laugh, "I'm serious, if I catch you around me, my family, or anyone I care about, you'll regret it."
"Then get rid of Jesse," She smirked as she gave a slight wave, "Or this video will go viral."

I watched as she walked away as I sighed, shutting the door as I looked down at Tyler.
"Don't make enemies Tyler," I shook my head as he squirmed in my arms then I moved towards the couch.

Soon after, I was in a peaceful sleep while a movie played as Tyler was in my arms. Ryan woke me up a few hours later as I rubbed sleep from my eyes.

"Kyle asked if you're going out to the track," Ryan whispered since Tyler was still asleep.
"I guess for a bit," I sighed as I stood up handing him to him, "I won't be gone long."

By time I got to the track, I was more awake but still worn out from everything. That and my mind was racing back to that tape that I made with Jesse a while ago. I didn't want it to be but for some reason I was scared what Ryan would think if he found out about that certain part of my past. It was like it was just a huge thing that had me on edge.

Then the other part of my mind was racing about my comeback this weekend since I haven't been competiting for a while. I stood in the bleachers watching the boys as I thought about everything, when Jake walked up to me and sat next to me.

"You were always the run who thought so much before a competition," He laughed as I rested my head on my hand.
"It's not just that right now."
"What else is there?"
"A lot of complicated things," I sighed as I watched the track.
"Like?"
"I don't feel like talking about them right now," I shook my head as he looked at me.
"Fair enough," He nodded, "What about thsi weekend is bugging you?"
"That Ryan isn't totally 100% ok with this all again," I looked at him, "And how everything is going to go."
"You'll be fine," Jake smiled, "You've always been good at doing this. Almost like it's natural."
"Yeah," I sighed as I watched the sun slowly start to set.
"And Ryan, if he isn't totally ok with this, can you blame him? I mean he loves you to death, more than anyone I've ever known not to mention he's afraid to even think of not having you around."
"And you know this how?" I looked at him as Jake smiled.
"I can see it," He smirked as I rolled my eyes, "And he talked to me today about it. He may not always show it but he loves you."
"I know," I sighed as Jake stood up.
"Well hey, I'm going to go get those kids in shape, you coming?"
"I just need a minute," I smiled at him lightly as he gave me a smile before walking off.
