Midnight Runner

Chapter 7: No. Memory.

The room smelled of a lavender rose, the light had shun in from the east side window, the atmosphere had a different tone to it and my head burned with agony and discomfort.

Blinking my eyes I had noticed that I wasn’t where I should be…something had happened and I couldn’t remember any of it. Walking to the life size mirror at the end of the room I was wearing a black Lolita dress with a black-hearted chocker and my light striking blonde hair let down around my shoulders. Looking at myself for a long time I tried to remember something…anything…nothing not even a letter of a name. It hurt that I had forgotten something important. When I looked back up to the mirror my eyes were a different color…it was a deep blood red with a hint of orange.

“I’m glad you’re awake.” A man with striking features and a beautiful smile along the same color eyes I had. “Well hello there I am Claius and It’s a pleasure to meet you.” He smiled kissing my hand. “Nice to meet you to, but may I ask where did you find me?” I looked at him I needed some info on where I was. “You were by the drains when I found you.” He smiled again as he sat down with me on the bed. “What is my name?” I needed to know my name out of all things. “Paige, your name is Paige.” He laughed slightly running his fingers through my silky smooth striking blonde hair.

“That’s a pretty name.” I smiled my name was Paige that was one less thing I needed to know. “Do I have any friends or family?” I asked him again while I watched him chuckle to himself. “Yes, me and my family so to say are your friends and family.” He patted me on the head like I was a little kid, was I little kid? I was so confused and so lost and the letter J kept popping up in my head over and over.

“Well let me give you a tour.” He grabbed my hand with his pale ice-cold hands and showed me through the door, we walked through a Victorian like era mansion. After he got done showing the whole place he stopped in a room where everybody else was and he told me their names and what they mean to him. Waving goodbye I walked out the door with him and I still couldn’t remember anything and it kind of hurt not to know exactly what your past was like.

As the night arose I sat on the big ledge of the window seal looking at the rain hitting the window every quarter of a second. “Why?” I said out loud not noticing I did and why did one letter stay in my head and now a face appeared and it was blurred so I couldn’t make out the face but it must have been someone I loved. I laid my head on my knees and watch the streets clutter with people. Sighing slowly this place didn’t look familiar or seem familiar. I walked around to the oversized elegant bed and crawled into the comforter and watched the rain as it put me into a deep sleep.

“The Ocean?” I could smell water and a cool breeze with the beaming sun hitting my face. “Paige!” I herd a voice that sounded calm and peaceful, I opened my eyes and it was like in another life that I had. I saw me on the shoulder of a tall, tanned guy who was carrying me into the water as I was yelling happily. I seemed so happy with that life or was it a passed life? I was so confused and sad because I wanted a life like that.

I had woken up from a dream I never wanted to wake from. Sighing I rubbed my head in aggravation and frustration I didn’t know who I was or where I was or where I came from?

“It had been three days since Paige has disappeared.” Jacob sighed he had stressed out so much about her capture he hadn’t be able to sleep. “Jake don’t worry we will find her.” Embry patted his left shoulder sighing as well. “Well we know who took her, it was those Volturi from Italy.” Sam said setting his hands on his face and leaning down to where Emily could rub his back. “Well I’m going to go get her.” Jacob said heading for the door. “Jake, stop they erased her memory…remember?” Quil said looking from him to the other side of the room, Jacob slid down to the floor. “Well what do we do then?” Jake asked turning to the others when he already knew the answer, they didn’t.

Hours passed until Leah just stood up. “Well I don’t know what you idiots are going to do but I’m going to Italy to find there place and take her back with her memory or not!” Leah almost walked out the door before a voice spoke. “Leah, your right.” Sam said standing up. “We need to take command and weather she remembers or not we have to go or they might change her.” Sam forced the words out of his mouth while all of them including Jacob stood up and walked to the door.

“Now lets do this, no holding back.” Quil said pumped up, jumping around loosening his muscles. “Lets go!!” Sam yelled as they all ran out the door and until the moonlight. “Bye, be back by dinner.” Emily said rolling her eyes, shutting the door and walking upstairs.
