Life on Banana Street

High School

-1 Year Later-

Tre and I were really getting serious with our relationship, but I didn't want to take it to the next level just yet. I mean, I was only 14 in 9th grade. I missed my old teachers though. Mr. Fedie... He was my favorite. Mr. Hamilton was just a child molester. I had moved on to high school. With new bitch ass teachers. Like Mrs. Lusk. She was a gay lezbo. That's how gay she is. She has a lisp so she sounds funny.

"Okay, attendance class. Mr. Armstrong?"

"Here."

"Tre, I love you baby."

"I love you too." He smiled and held my hand.

"Mr. David?"

"FOOD!"

"Mr. Dirnt?"

"Here."

"I don't mean to interrupt, Mrs. Lusk, but you have a guest." Mr. Brown said. He was the principal.

"Ok, send him in."

Mr. Fedie walked in the room.

"Mr. Fedie!"

"Hey Addie! I'm your guest speaker today. You can be my assistant. Come on up here."

I got up and went to the front of the class.

"So, how's school going for you?"

"Fine I guess. It's not the same without you and your 409."

"No one can live up to the standards of me and my 409."

"Nope."

"Ok, class! Today, we're going to be talking about drugs."

No one looked up.

"We're gonna snort some!"

Everyone looked up.

"Ok, this is what happens when you get on drugs. Addie, be all crazy and stuff."

I acted like I was on drugs. It wasn't that hard. My brother got on drugs a while back.
Mike just had to ruin my reunion with Mr. Fedie.

"LOOK IT'S THE FUCKERS!"

"Mr. Dirnt. We do not use that kind of language in this school. Go to Mr. Brown."

He left and Nicky grabbed his leg. He started chewing on it.

"What the? What are you doing?"

"Don't worry. It's just a little piece."

"OH GOD MY DREAM CAME TRUE!" Jeff screeched.

He pulled free and walked across the hall.

-After School-

"Addie, I've been reciting this to myself all day."

"What?"

"I desperately wanna make sweet love to a school boy."

"What?!"

"No, not that. I didn't mean it like that."

"I think I know what you're saying Tre, but it's just not the right time. Maybe someday but not now."

"I'm glad to hear that."

He walked me to my door.

"Wanna go out later to see a movie?"

"Of course!"

He smiled and kissed my cheek then walked to his house.

I walked inside and got a snack. I felt like Nicky.

-That Night-

I was putting on my make up when the door bell rang. I heard my mom answer the door.

"Adeline!"

"Coming!"

I put on his AC/DC hoodie and walked downstairs.

"I like your shoes Addie."

"They're the same shoes I wear everyday."

"I know, they just look better now."

My mom looked at Tre with astonishment at his compliment.

He grabbed my hand and led me to his mom's car.

"You drive?"

"Uh yeah. I got my permit today."

"How? You're only in 9th grade."

"I'm in advanced Driver's Ed."

"Oh. Well, I love it."

I smiled and kissed his cheek.

He opened the door for me and I got in and he got in on the other side.

He reached over and kissed me fully on the lips.

He stopped for a minute.

"Did you dye your hair?"

"Why yes I did. I put green highlights in it just for the occasion."

"That makes me feel special."

"You are special. Ed."

He smiled and continued kissing me.

-The Movie Theater-

"Uhh, 2 please," Tre said holding my waste close to his like we were joined at the hip.

"Here you go, sir. Enjoy the movie."

He took the tickets and we walked in the same way we stood there. Hip-and-hip.
We took our seats and he put his arm around me and kissed my cheek softly.

"Tre, you know I would love to kiss you, but I came here to watch the movie."

"Oh man!" He said like a little kid, then crossing his arms.

I laughed then we settled down and watched the movie.

-My House-

"I had a good time, Tre."

"Of course you did. You're out with Tre Cool."

"Tre, what's your real name?"

"Frank Wright. The third."

"Fancy! Got a middle name there?"

He blushed and hesitated. "Edwin."

I laughed and grabbed his shoulder. "Oh, that's funny. Your secret's safe with me."

"What's yours?"

"It's so gay. Well, girly."

"What?"

"Brittany."

"Wow. Adeline Brittany Hersh. You got a nice name. Like your ass."

"Excuse me?" I said with a smile.

"You know you have a nice ass," he said eyeing it.

"Tre, you're a perv!"

"Yeah I know. It's a gift. It runs in my family."

"Good night Tre." I waited for it. He came closer and kissed me on the lips. He pulled me closer and I put my arms around his neck; his around my waste.
We pulled apart what seemed like ages later. He left my porch and I went inside and leaned against the door.

"Adeline."

"Yes, mom?"

"What do you think you're doing?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you were kissing that boy."

"It's Tre. Tre good. You like Tre."

"Go to your room and think about what you did. I don't want my daughter to become a mother by the age
of 14."

"Mom, it's not like I'm having sex. I'm not ready."

"GO TO YOUR DAMN ROOM!"

I looked at her and saw a bottle of beer in her hand. Shit.
I ran upstairs before she had the chance.
I lay in my bed and I thought all right. Tre. He really does love me. We were meant to be. Together forever.
