[TRANSCRIPT]

QUINZEL: How did you know about Emily?

PATIENT: You seem angry.

QUINZEL: I’m not here to play games. I’m here to find answers. How did you know about Emily?

PATIENT: Games? If this is a game, I’m not having any fun.

*Long Pause: 1 minute*

PATIENT: Is this a game of silence?

QUINZEL: I want you to answer me.

PATIENT: How is this supposed to help with my therapy?

QUINZEL: This is not therapy. Something happened to that little girl, and I want to know your role in it.

PATIENT: Dr. O’Shea said that you’re not allowed to conduct solo interviews.

QUNIZEL: Dr. O’Shea is no longer in charge. Now stop changing the subject and answer me!

PATIENT: I didn’t do anything to Emily.

QUINZEL: How do you know about her?

PATIENT: How could I not? It was all Dr. Bina kept talking about during lunch.

QUINZEL: Dr. Bina eats his lunch in his office. You eat your lunch in your cell. His office and your cell are on opposite sides of the building.

PATIENT: Hmm… Sounds like this is going to be a tough one to figure out. *Laughs*

QUINZEL: Who’s helping you?

PATIENT: Helping me? What makes you think I need help?
*Laughs*
Oh, right, I’m in the loony bin. And you’re my doctor now, right?

QUINZEL: For this questioning.

PATIENT: So why are you asking who’s helping me? You are.

QUINZEL: Someone is helping you, and we will figure it out.

PATIENT: Uh-huh.

QUINZEL: *OVER SPEAKER* Mr. Smagorinsky, you can escort Patient 4297 back to his cell, now.

PATIENT: It’s Smagorinsky.

QUINZEL: *OVER SPEAKER* Just a second, Smagorinsky.

PATIENT: Smagorinsky. Fine man. He let me out of my cell one day.

QUINZEL: You hate Mr. Smagorinsky.

PATIENT: No, I don’t.

QUNIZEL: *FLIPS THROUGH FILES*
You said so right here. *READS FROM FILE*
Patient: I think Smagorinsky’s been hanging out with Bolton.
O’Shea: What do you mean?
Patient: I mean that he’s getting a little rough. Like Lyle Bolton.
O’Shea: Has he harmed you?
Patient: He’s annoying me.

PATIENT: And he was annoying me. He kept letting me out of my cell. It’s detrimental to my rehabilitation.

QUINZEL: Uh-huh. Listen, the hospital’s looked into your complaints about Lyle Bolton and Paul Smagorinsky, and there’s nothing that they’re doing wrong.
*OVER SPEAKER* Sorry, Mr. Smagorinsky, you can escort him back now.

*Pause while SMAGORINSKY enters*

QUINZEL: Can you give this to the nurse on your way over, Mr. Smagorinsky?

SMAGORINSKY: Certainly.

PATIENT: What is that?

QUINZEL: A new prescription for you. Butisol Sodium.

PATIENT: Isn’t that used for sleep disorders? I don’t have problems sleeping.

QUINZEL: It’s a sedative.

PATIENT: A seda-

SMAGORINSKY: Come on, 4297.

PATIENT: Don’t touch me, Smagorinsky!

*TAPE ENDS*
