Racing Towards Love

I, Marilee Thompson always wanted to race. I want to be sitting behind the wheel of my very own stock car, headed for the finish line; in the front. I want to win.

I watched my older brother get his first stock car, and I watched him win.

I patiently waited for my turn.

And when I finally turned sixteen and was aloud to race at the local track. My mom said ‘No’.

My mom said it wasn’t a girls sport, and as long as I lives in her house; there will be no girls racing. And that was the end of it.

I’m nineteen now, still waiting for a way to race.

My older Brother Jimmie is now a professional racer, he races in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series, and he’s a three time champion.

And right now he’s getting ready to start a new season.

He’ll be leaving soon, and I plan to be with him.

I just have to convince him to let me come.
