Wolve's Love

No Folding Only Ripping

The sun spread through the room as Alex was sticking bacon in his mouth. Dave walked into the room with nothing on but his boxers, looking very tired and surprised. “It’s 7 in the morning, Alex. I am glad you want school but still,” Dave said, a little sarcastically.

“What can I say? I may be Lycan but that doesn’t stop some little Vampiric traits from showing,” Alex said well picking up his bag.

“Every morning, you always get up so early. Like I said, no shit this early. You know I will fight off anyone for you, but at least give me my mornings to get ready,” Dave chuckled to himself with his loud laugh. It was never the jokes that made Alex laugh; it was Dave’s laugh.

“I will make sure to piss off a slayer or two and maybe a vampire here and there, you know.” Dave retaliated by pointing at Alex and saying, “oh my friend, one of these days your ego will catch up to you.” Alex was always very confident in himself and loved to show it, even in the way he talked. Alex then opened the door to walk outside, turned around to Dave and said, “If my ego gets too close, I’ll just turn around and put down an oil slick.” He then closed the door quickly so Dave could not reply. Alex was a little scared this comment might get him in a little to deep with Dave. Alex knew that Dave had a tendency to be right.

Walking to school listening to his music, Alex thought to himself ‘how am I going to screw this one up this time?’ He guessed the best thing for him to do to stop it was to control his anger. He couldn’t see Dave letting him get away with much more. 7 schools had to be his limit. ‘Oh please let this be my lucky number 7,’ he thought to himself as he walked up the steps to Lerensa Secondary School. The letters were placed so neatly above the doors, it almost intimidated Alex. For a second he had to stop and look at the letters. Suddenly, in his addiction to the letters, a crying girl bumped into him.

“Oh… I am really sorry,” she said sobbing

“Oh no, it is all right, I’m okay,” Alex said, realizing the shock knocked him off balance more then the bump did. “Uhm, I know I don’t even know your name yet, and as informal as this may be … are you okay?” The girl looked down at her feet, almost like she was going to burst out a whole story, then with the most random movements, just ran away.

‘What a great first day already,’ Alex thought to himself while walking around the school. ‘People are running from me already.’ Alex was heading for the office to get his classes, but he honestly had no clue where anything was. As he walked into the office, there was a tall guy at the desk in a rage.

“What do you mean I can’t get my classes changed?” he screamed at the secretary.

She replied in a very annoyed voice, “I am sorry. Everyone else has to wait, so do you.”

The angered teen retorted, “You really don’t know what I can do… do you?”

The secretary literally stood up. “Throwing threats wont get you anywhere here, you know.” Alex felt the tension in the room raising and his own protective nature would not let him sit back and watch.

“Especially threats toward a lady… did your mother never teach you ethics, my friend?” The angered person turned to Alex and stared into his eyes with his own dark green eyes. They looked almost like they were going to randomly go completely black.

“Stay out of this, mop, I will literally tear you head off.” At this point, Alex could see the blinding rage this guy was radiating and decided if a fight were to happen, there would be no way this guy would stand a chance.

“My face is a minor price for hanging your body up the flag pole.” Alex gave the guy his hair flip that he loved to do when he was telling people off. “And honestly, I believe your bark is bigger then your bite.” This comment almost made the guy’s face light up and a bit of a sadistic smile moved onto his face.

“I can tell you now I don’t bark… I bite… barking, my friend, is exactly your problem.” As soon as he said this, he walked off without giving Alex a chance to talk back

“What was his problem?” Alex asked the secretary.

“Some people here just think they can run the school…honestly, they do a good job at ruling the kids by scaring them, but they think they can run the place itself.”

Alex just smiled at this. “So a high school bully…bullies never folded well with me.” As the secretary was printing out a piece of paper, she said, “Well he is insane. Folding with him might not be good.” She then handed him that paper and as she did, Alex looked her in the eyes and said, “trust me, I won’t be folding, I will be ripping.” For the rest of the time Alex had left, he walked around in till he found all his classes and found his way to his first one…’Science great nothing like sitting there for 75 minutes well the teacher tells you how you can’t exist.’ As Alex walked in, he saw the girl sitting in the front set of desks. She was the same girl who bumped into him crying. His first reaction was to sit next to her.

“Hi again.” The girl put her head down and said hi in an almost embarrassed voice. “I never got your name. It would be really nice if I could match a name with your pretty face,” Alex said, hoping this might cheer her up a little. She smiled and giggled a little at this, then looked up and said, “ My name is Jessica, nice to meet you.” The thought that it worked quickly shot through Alex’s mind as he said “Hi, I’m Alex. I just moved in here so…honestly, I feel like a loner. Do you mind if I sit with you?” She just smiled and pulled out a stool. Alex just took that as a yes and sat down.

“I am sorry about earlier its just guys are assholes.” She quickly corrected herself and said “well, not saying you’re an asshole…well, then again, I can’t say that cause I don’t know you…not saying that I will, just…and I’m not judging you on what you are, and…I should just shut up.” This made Alex smile and think to himself ‘someone’s nervous around me …since when?’ but he got the self confidence up to say, “honestly, don’t worry about it. I know guys can be assholes, I am one.” This made Jessica’s face light up with a large smile. “Thank you…you seem oddly nice though,” she said. Again, she quickly changed herself and said, “not like that’s a bad thing though.” This time, Alex quickly interrupted to try and stop another embarrassing rant from her.

“If you don’t mind me asking, what happened?” Just then the same angry guy stood in front of Jessica.

“Honestly, you are going to regret saying what you did.” She automatically stood up and yelled back, “Look. I said I was sorry. What do you want me to do, Evan?”

“How about go die in a hole! I let you live amongst us peacefully. You should be happy with that!” At this point, Alex really didn’t care. He had to stand up for her.

“You know what? This is the second time today I have had to deal with you,” Alex said in a pissed off voice. “And I hate to steal the Hulk’s line, but you wouldn’t like me when I am angry.” The rather large, muscular guy who was standing across the desks looked very surprised and confused at first, but then realized who he was.

“You again, from earlier in the office. I swear to you, dog, if we have problems, I will kill you off with this failure to your kind to.” Alex didn’t exactly realize or take in what he had said before he had thrown a punch at the guy. Evan quickly snapped his head back from the punch. “You know have in enemy, remember that.” With this, he walked out of the classroom.

“That happened,” Jessica said in a very silent voice, plopping back down to her seat.

When Alex actually processed what had just unfolded, he realized there was a lot he was going to have to talk about with his new friend. ‘if I can call her that,’ Alex said to himself in his head. He had just stood up for her from a large guy making threats against her life. I am pretty sure that is friend worthy. Well if he wasn’t, then he would be by the end of this, he could tell.

“Alex,” the teacher called.

“Yes sir, I’m here,” Alex said, very surprised. He was so into his thoughts that he had not even noticed the teacher walk in. The class went almost exactly the way he thought. It was 75 minutes of nothing new, same old stuff he hated. With only ten minutes to spare before the bell, he was able to pull Jessica aside, out of hearing distance, and talked with her. “Okay, I’m going over this in my mind. He said ‘our kind’. What did he mean by that?” Alex said. He knew what Evan had meant but did not want to give away what he was so easily to just anyone.

“Honestly. He has a knack for hunting down people like us and obviously he sees it in you, so there is no point in hiding.” After this, Alex was shocked at how clean and out in the open she was and could not seem to find any words. “I don’t know about you, but he seems to think I am just a scared kitten. But I am not scared of him.” This almost made Alex’s jaw drop and the next words made him want to kick himself in the ass. “And unless you want to be turned into a beaten puppy, I would be a little more careful. I appreciate your help, but I can take care of myself. Which is what you should be doing.”

Alex still had this on his mind while he was sitting in the back of his English class. Alex made sure to stay far away from everyone after the incident earlier. He wasn’t sure who he could trust. The class was going by very smoothly, no one really talked to him. The teacher was nice, well, Alex thought so up until the point he said ‘partners’. Alex went into a panic ‘I don’t know anyone, gah, why me?’ Just then, the person in front of him turned around, looked at him, and said “Honestly, I don’t know anyone here and they all look ether preppy or like they would be an asshole. So would you mind if we worked together?” Alex looked up at him a bit confused then realized he was being saved.

“Yes I will, thank god! I don’t know anyone in here ether.” The kid smiled and told him his name was Wessley, but he preferred to be called just Wes. Unbelievably, the class went really well. The two mixed well. Well, good for them, bad for the teacher. Before the end of the class, they were in the hallway doing their work and talking with each other. “Wow. Lunch time. I am so hungry I could eat a deer,” Alex said.

“I would rather it be a deer, my friend,” Wessly said back. Alex quickly jumped at this.

“What? Why? Huh?”

“I thought you realized what I was already, and no worries. I won’t go after you, you seem good.” Alex stepped back and said “you’re a slayer. You could have had me easily, I didn’t even notice.” Wessly stopped him

“Yeah, I know your only trying to live in peace and I won’t stop that. I won’t go after people like you, even with your track record, but I like you and honestly, I want you to stick around. So I’m here to help, and trust me, in this school, you need as much back up as you can get.” Alex was completely stumped at this point.

“How does everyone know?” Wessly just gave a big smile.

“A lot of the people here are use to it. You could say it is Halloween all year round here with a lot of the shit that happens.” It went silent between the two for a couple seconds, and then Wessly piped up and said, “well, unlike you, I do eat normal food, so how about we go eat?” Alex decided on the spot a friend was a friend, slayer or not, and having someone he could be honest with would be good.

“Yeah, sorry I will come with you. Let’s go,” he replied.
