Falling in love is great. Unless it's with a demon.

(22)Back to normal

You all took the next week to rest, and heal up after getting back to your home. You slept for nearly three straight days before even getting out of bed and found that Ariel was taking even longer. But being locked away with Sato for years would take it's toll on anyone.
You had a hard time believing he was really dead actually. I mean, when a demon died where does he go? You were in Hell... so would his soul just go back there? And would he come after you again?
You shook your head, and took a sip of your water that you were clutching in both hands. You were sitting in the kitchen, alone, and feeling safe for the first time in a long time. Still, your thoughts bothered you and you looked around and behind you expecting Sato to pop out of no where.
"Hey you!" Kyo yelled jumping from behind you.
You screamed and fell out of your chair to the floor.
"Kira, are you ok?" Kyo asked, worried, feeling bad for making you fall. "I didn't mean to... I was just playing..." he reached out his hand and you breathed in relief and took it, allowing him to help you up.
"It's ok, Kyo," you smiled and hugged him. "I guess I'm still kind of jumpy after all that's happened..."
Kyo blushed and slowly wrapped his arms around you. "Are you ok?"
You nodded, laying your head against his chest and closing your eyes. It was good to just stand there with him and be in his arms without worrying. It was good just to be...
"Ahem," Lunehtiel cleared his throat walking into the kitchen and avoiding your eyes. You knew he was probably hurt at seeing you with Kyo like that, but you didn't have any commitment to any of the guys.
Still, you backed away from him and sat back down at the table, sipping your water again.
Kyo sat down beside you and watched you, with sideways glances, turning his eyes away when you turned to see if he was looking.
You smiled, knowing he was doing it, but not caring. It made you feel special.
Lunetiel came back to the table with food, and laid it out before sitting down himself.
Kyo looked down at the food questioningly, as he wrinkled his nose sniffing it. "Do you really expect me to eat this?"
"Would you prefer cat food?" Lunehtiel asked, smiling at you.
You couldn’t help but giggle at the comment, even as Kyo frowned. But his smile returned as he looked at your face, and saw how happy you were. That was the effect you had on the guys though. There was no way any of them could be unhappy if you were happy and smiling at them. It was pretty amazing how big of an impact you had on their lives, even in such a short time of knowing them.
You looked over to the door as Chase walked thought it. As usual, he wasn’t wearing a shirt, and as usual you couldn't help but stare at him as he stretched and sat down at the end of the table. He noticed you staring, of course, and smiled winking at you. "If you like what you see, you're going to love what else I have to show you."
You blushed fifty different colors of red, and put your head down, but thankfully Noki walked in next and hit Chase upside the head. "Don't tease Kira."
You giggled again and smiled at Noki as he sat down next to Lunehtiel. You were glad those two were back to their normal, pretty much ignoring each other, selves. After what you had heard about what happened while they were coming to get you, you worried about whether they could still get along, but they seems perfectly fine now. The thought brought a lot of relief to you, even if it seemed like such a small thing. The last thing you needed were the guys getting physical in their fighting for you. Looking at Noki you had no doubt he could win...
"Good morning, everyone," Ariel's shy voice came from the doorway. Everyone turned at once to look at her, and she blushed hurrying to sit beside you.
Ember followed her, stopping by you to nuzzle your hand affectionately.
"Well good morning to you too, Ember," you laughed as he puffed out a small ring of smoke and went back to Ariel's side.
She looked so tiny, and shy sitting there, blushing as everyone looked at her. You knew she most likely wasn't the outgoing type. But lucky for her you were, and you made it a goal to become her best friend and get her to be open.
"How are you feeling?" you asked though, more out of concern at the moment. She had slept longer than anyone.
She smiled and nodded, "I'm feeling much better thanks. I never really got the chance to thank you.. for getting me out of there." Her face darkened at the thought of being in that awful place.
You leaned over and reached out and put your hand on top of hers, smiling. "I was happy to do it. No one should have to endure that..."
She blushed again, looking down at your hand and suddenly hugged you, close. "I'm still very grateful... for everything. Bringing me back to my brother most of all. You'll never know how much it means to me to be back with my family..."
You hugged her, until she let go and smiled, giggling as you sat back.
But now everyone was staring at you. "What?" You asked, nervously to their looks.
Kyo took your hand in his and rubbed his thumb over it gently. "We're just all so lucky to have you Kira... and one of us will even be lucky enough to have you as a wife. The thought still blows my mind."
You laughed kissing Kyo's cheek but of course Chase had to ruin the moment by adding, "That and you have such a sweet-"
He was cut off, as he gasped as Noki elbowed him in the ribs. Everyone glared at him and he added quickly, "And you know... the whole us being lucky to have you thing."
You still blushed, wondering what he was about to say if Noki hadn't stopped him.
After that last comment everything went suddenly very silent, the only noise coming from Chase and Kyo fighting over the last piece of toast.
"So, Noki," you decided to end the silence. "Have you decided where we're going for our date?"
Noki looked up at you, slyly, and nodded. "I've had a few ideas..."
"Well, where are we going?" you asked, getting excited. You thought maybe he had forgotten in all the chaos, and were happy to see he had put some thought into it.
"It's a surprise," he smiled again and went back to eating his cereal.
Your mind wandered off with thoughts of where he could possibly take you. Out to eat? Dancing? A walk on the beach? Those, though good, seemed to normal for Noki. You knew it was gonna be good and the rest of the day seemed to pass agonizingly slow with you following Noki around asking him every ten minutes where he was taking you until he told you to go get ready.
You squealed, and ran to your room, took a shower and put on a simple white dress since he had said he was taking you out of the house.
You walked down the stairs and heard every guy watching you gasp at how beautiful you looked. It made you blush and you walked down slowly, taking the moment in as much as possible.
You saw Noki standing off away from the guys, and his eyes lit up as he saw you walk towards him. He had never seen any girl so beautiful as you, and he wondered if maybe you were part angel like Ariel.
"You look... gorgeous Kira," he said breathlessly.
You giggled and took his hand. "Ready to go?"
He could only nod, still staring at, in complete shock that someone like you could possibly be his one day.
He led you outside, to the back of the house, turned you around so you were facing away from him and put his hands over your eyes.
"Think of the one place you'd like to go more than anywhere in the world, Kira," he whispered in your ear and you concentrated hard on a place like no other.
You didn't feel anything changed around you, but he suddenly pulled his hands back away from your eyes making you gasp at what you saw....
