Falling in love is great. Unless it's with a demon.

You woke up the next morning feeling dizzy, as if you weren't in your own bed. You sat up slowly and touched your head, rubbing it gently. *What happened last night...?* You thought as you looked around your room, closing your eyes as the bright morning light filled your vision. You stood up slowly, and looked from one corner to the other then under your bed. *Kyo...?* you whispered, remembering that he had jumped back into your window the night before. Somehow you couldn't keep your eyes open after he had left. He seemed to be gone now though, so you went to take a quick shower.
After your shower you dressed in a pink plaid skirt with a black shirt and multicolored pink socks before running downstairs. "Hey mom I'm-" You stopped, dead in your tracks and covered your mouth with your shaking hands. There was blood everywhere... It covered the floor, ceiling, and furniture. You ran to the other side of the room and found your mother laying face down in a pool of her own blood. She was dead... You backed away from her, tears springing to your eyes as you shook your head.
"Hello, Kira..." a dark voice echoed behind you. You turned quickly, but found no one there. Then you felt an ice cold hand gripping your shoulder. You felt your entire body go numb and you couldn't move to face whatever was holding you. You were losing control of your entire body and soon found yourself falling backwards and into someone arms.
Your eyes stared straight ahead into two blazing red orbs that stared at you tauntingly. "Having trouble moving, my love?"
You didn't understand what was going on, but you suddenly wished that you hadn't made Kyo go away last night. "Kyo?" He laughed and pointed to somewhere beside you. "You mean that weakling?" He lifted you in his arms to stand before him so you could see the form laying on the ground, covered in blood with slashes all over his body.
Your strength returned to you and jumped to reach him screaming, "Kyo!"
But the unknown intruder only laughed again and held you fast in his arms. "Would you like to watch me kill him?"
You struggled fiercely against his body, pounding your hands into his chest, but it was useless. You were just too weak against any guy. You looked over to Kyo and began to cry, knowing you couldn't do anything to help him.
Suddenly a huge light filled your eyes and you had to close them from the heat. You heard your captor scream from behind you and someone else grabbed your arms and tugged you free. "Are you ok?" You heard Noki asked softly, as he held you close.
You nodded weakly and looked around for Kyo. Remembering how he looked made you cry more. "Kyo... he's hurt."
"Chase will take care of it..." Noki assured you as he pulled you through your front door and into the yard. You looked back at your house, completely engulfed in flames. You could hear muffled yells and screams and then suddenly something huge with black wings busted through what was left of your roof and flew straight up into the sky, disappearing into the blue.
"What about Chase and Kyo?" You asked worriedly as you began to walk towards the fire.
Noki held you back with a gentle hand on your wrist. "They will be ok." He tuned you into his arms and you looked up into his eyes and believed him. You put your head to his chest and waited, but it wasn't long before Chase came crashing out of your house with Kyo on his back. He breathed heavily and coughed as he laid Kyo on the ground.
You got on your knees beside him and cleared the blood away from his face with your skirt, hoping that he wasn't too badly hurt or worse... dead. After clearing away some of the blood it didn't even seem like he had any cuts on him, just blood. You had forgotten he was a demon. You had gotten so worried and he was going to be ok. You smiled at the thought and held onto his hand.
"We should be getting out of here," Noki warned Chase as the sound of sirens echoed close by.
Chase nodded and grabbed Kyo while Noki pulled you up. "Can you walk? If not then I will be able to carry you."
"I can walk," you nodded, although the thought of Noki carrying you didn't bother you at all. You wondered how he could, because he seemed so weak.
"Alright," he said, looking almost disappointed as he took your hand. "I have a better idea." He smiled and put his arm around you, holding you close. "Hold on tight..."
You looked at him confused for a minute. You certainly weren't going to get anywhere with him standing there holding you and you started to open your mouth to say something when he closed his eyes and began to chant something under his breath. You couldn't hear what he was saying, even only being inches away from his mouth, but the world around you suddenly started to spin. You watched as your burned house, the trees, the grass, the sky and everything all melted into a blur. It was so disorienting that you had to close your own eyes as your stomach began to turn. You thought you were going to sick.
"You ok?" Noki's voice asked soft and close to your ear.
You shook your head and clutched his shirt as though you would be lost in the spinning colors. "Just tell me when it's over..."
You felt Noki shift slightly beside you and laugh silently. "It's over..."
You peeked open one eye and saw that you were standing in front of his house, everything exactly as it had been the last time you had seen it, only without the rain. *It looks so old...* you thought as you looked around, not having gotten a good look at it before because of the storm. The sunlight barely managed to make it through the trees, they were so thick and it almost looked like the sun was going down even though it was early in the morning.
"Feeling better?" Noki asked and you realized that you were still holding onto him tightly.
You pulled away and took a step back feeling embarrassed. "I'm fine. What was that anyway?"
"You should know by now," he smiled and moved past you towards the house. "I have magic. Didn't Kyo tell you?"
You shook your head and looked him over curiously. "What do you mean you have magic?"
Noki sighed and waved for you to follow him. You did and he led you inside and up a set of stairs where he began to explain. "Haven't you wondered where that fireball came from?"
You thought about it for a minute. It was odd that a huge ball of fire came from no where... And what he just did must have been some kind of teleportation spell. You sighed and shrugged. *I can't say it's the weirdest thing I've ever seen...*
You got to the top of the stairs and saw Chase standing at the end of it outside of a room. He had his arms crossed and was leaning against a wall looking up at the ceiling. You ran to him, passing Noki and went to open the door.
Chase stopped you with a hand on your wrist. "I wouldn't do that if I were you..."
"And just why not?" You kept your hand where it was glaring at Chase.
Chase smiled. "Because from the looks of you you've never seen a guy naked. And unless you want Kyo to be the first one..."
You stepped back away from the door. Thought s of Kyo being naked in the next room suddenly filled your head and you shook it violently to clear them away. "I think I'll stay out here... but how is he?"
"He's fine, I promise," Chase put his arm around you and pulled you into him. You knew he was probably just doing it to touch you, but you didn't mind. You needed the comfort and having all these guys around you, fighting for your attention didn't bother you at all. Except for the thought that you'd someday have to choose one of them... And what would become of the others? You looked from Chase to Noki who both looked at you in return. Chase with his playful smile and Noki with a look of diminished hope, as though he thought he wasn't good enough. His eyes turned away from you and went to the floor and Chase held you just a little tighter, as though in triumph over having you in his arms. You felt terrible...
The door opened beside you and Kyo walked out, wearing new and untorn clothing. You instantly went to his arms and felt hot tears rolling down your face. "I was so... worried..." you said while crying, making it hard for anyone to understand you. But Kyo understood without knowing your words. He held onto you and kissed your head gently.
"I told you I'd never let anyone hurt you..." he smiled, closing his eyes. "I'll never let anyone hurt you..."
With those words an image fluttered through your memory and died. You instantly forgot what it was, but the words echoed in your head. *I'll never let anyone hurt you...*
Noki cleared his throat uncomfortably and you felt Chase shifting from somewhere beside you. You backed away from Kyo and looked each in the eyes. "I want an explanation of everything..."
They all nodded and the four of you returned to the downstairs living room. You sat on the couch between Chase and Kyo and Noki sat off in his dark corner as if the light would kill him.
"You know we're demons..." Kyo smiled as you nodded, finally believing them for sure now. If what happened earlier wasn't proof then you didn't know what was. "And as demons we have certain enemies."
The thought of your mother laying dead in your house suddenly came to mind. You tried to contain the tears that were filling your vision inside of yourself, but they were slowly overwhelming you. Both Chase and Kyo took your hands, giving each other menacing looks. "My mom..."
There was silence throughout the room now. All save for you silent sobs and sniffling. You turned to Kyo and wrapped your arms around his neck, letting yourself cry into his chest(sorry if Kyo is getting too much attention at the moment. You'll get more with the others later...) He patted your back comfortingly and kissed the side of your head. "Who was he?"
"A fallen angel," Chase answered touching your shoulder and you sat back away from Kyo, giving him a grateful look. "Pretty much a demon. But not born a demon like us. We are more powerful than he, and that's why he ran or rather flew away. He envies our power and the only way for him to be a great as us is for him to kill us all."
You stood up and shook your head. "So not only do I have to marry one of you, but there's some psycho out there trying to kill you all too? And it's possible that my potential husband is going to be killed by him?"
They all nodded.
You sat back down in a chair that was closer to Noki now. "So explain to me again why I have to marry one of you." You were talking to Noki since he seemed to know more about it.
"I told you I was told by a seer, or fortune teller, that you would marry one of us or we will all die."
"But why?" you asked, not understanding anything. They weren’t very good at explaining when they should know it better than anyone else.
"It's fate," Noki growled then began to cough until blood came out of his mouth and coated his pale lips red. "There is no other way about it. If you don't marry one of us we all will die."
You went silent. It obviously wasn't the right time to ask questions... Not with things being the way they were. You felt sick to your stomach. But there were still some things that you kind of needed to know. "So... where will I go?"
"You could stay here!" Kyo said hopefully and Chase nodded.
But Noki looked concerned. “You think it's good for her to stay with us, with all the danger around us?"
"Were you not just standing there when she was nearly taken?" Case asked laughing. "She's no safer out there than she would be here. And at least here we would be able to guard her more carefully..."
Noki thought it over while Chase and Kyo looked hopeful. Obviously Noki was the most logical of the three, but you agreed with the others. If you were out there how much time would it take for them to get to you if you were attacked? "I want to stay here," you said finally, standing up and looking at Noki. "I agree that I will be safer with you guys."
Kyo jumped up and hugged you and Chase did the same as soon as Kyo let you go. But Noki still looked concerned. He stood up with the others and nodded after a few minutes. "Fine then... you'll stay with us."
You smiled and hugged him too, although he held back from you.
"So where's my room?"
