Cyberspace Romance
Chloe
Zoey was sitting on the large black couch with Eva. Zoey was laughing as Eva told her the stories of how Novak had started expressing an interest in her. She laughed, as she thought about Eva dating Novak-- that would be the weirdest combination ever.
"So, how's Shianne-- it's almost time, right?"
"Actually, she's two days over due, right now. So anytime." Zoey said.
Shianne was suppose to give birth to her daughter two days ago. The doctor's had assured them that it was normal for first time mothers to sometimes go a week or so over their due date. Zoey just hoped she didn't-- she was now seven months, but looked about nine. It was tough packing around twins in her small frame. She had decided to take off work, it was hard standing on her feet for long periods of time with that much weight.
"So-- you think Kay's managing the shop all right?" Eva ask laughing.
Zoey had placed Kay in charge on the days Eva wouldn't be present. She was happy to step up to the plate; she actually found it easy to boss people around as she sit behind the counter, take money, and make appointments.
"Yeah. She's gonna be great at it; she loves making the girls work."
"I bet Jenna wants to punch her though." Eva laughed.
"Nah-- Jenna likes working I think."
Bam walked into the living area and smiled when he saw Eva sitting with Zoey. He was glad she had made such amazing friends while living in West Chester. He walked over and kissed Zoey on the forehead, and grinned when he looked down at her large bump. She couldn't wear any of her own clothes; so she was mostly stuck in his larger element tee's which didn't bother him one bit. It gave him a moment of pride when he looked at her.
"What are you up to?" Zoey ask, she knew he had been outside with Dico and Dunn.
"Uh-- we're going to go to the junk yard, buy some junk cars; and then crash them in the yard." Bam said.
Zoey giggled, "You're kidding, me right?" She said.
"Nope!"
"Bam-- you better not cripple yourself two months before these babies are born!" Zoey said.
"I won't-- I'll cripple Dunn." He said, leaning down and placing a kiss on her mouth.
She laughed as he walked out of the house, screaming towards Dico and Dunn.
"Is it like this a lot?"
"Kind of-- he's more down to earth when his friends aren't around. But I kinda like it when they come around, he's just so alive."
"So, you don't mind his friends being around all the time?"
"Not at all. It just makes me cherish our alone time together."
Eva nodded her head, and Zoey flipped on the television so they could enjoy some tube. After about ten minutes of watching television the phone started ringing. Zoey slowly moved over and grabbed it, bringing it up to her ear, and answered it.
"Zoe! Shianne's in Labor!" Ryder's nervous but excited voice yelled.
"What? Now? Did you take her to the hospital?"
"Yes; That's where I'm at now-- there getting ready to take her back. I've gotta go!" Ryder said.
"I'll be there, love you bye." Zoey said smiling.
She looked over at Eva, who was smiling.
"Shianne's in labor."
"Let's go then." Eva said, helping Zoey off the couch.
Zoey grabbed her purse, and cell phone, and walked out of the door behind Eva. She phoned Bam and let him know. He canceled his plans with Dico and Dunn and said he was on his way to the hospital.
Zoey and Eva arrived at the hospital about twenty minutes later. She walked up to the front desk of the floor where the babies were born, and the nurse told them that Shianne was already in the room along with her boyfriend and mother. Zoey smiled and walked over to the waiting room. She and Eva were the only two there for Shianne and Ryder so far, but not even fifteen minutes later people started showing up. Frantz arrived, and he was shaky. He was nervous about becoming an uncle. Shianne's father, Ape, and then finally Bam arrived.
"How's Ry?" Bam ask.
"He was nervous; but he'll be fine."
Bam sit down beside Zoey and held her hand. He could tell she was nervous about her brother becoming a father.
After nine hours of labor; Shianne finally delivered her baby girl, weighing in at 6 pounds and 2 ounces. Bam held onto Zoey as he walked her down the hallway to see her newborn niece. She starred in the glass window and a tear slipped out of her eye when she saw Chloe for the first time. She was wrapped up in a little pink blanket, she looked exactly like Ryder.
"She's so cute."
"I know." Bam said.
He starred down at the little girl wrapped in the blanket and smiled. He couldn't wait to look through that same window in two months and see his babies. They returned back to the waiting room for a little bit, while they waited on them to clean Shianne up. Once she was cleaned up the doctors allowed some people back to visit with her and little Chloe. Zoey walked into the room, and Ryder was waiting for her. She could tell he had been crying. He hugged his sister, and Zoey rubbed on his back the entire time, whispering in his ear how proud she was of him.
They brought little Chloe in, and Zoey was the first one to hold her. Ryder smiled as his sister held his daughter. It meant so much to him. Zoey reached down and placed her finger inside Chloe's little hand and smiled when she looked down at her niece.
"Mom and dad would be so proud of you, Ry."
Ryder smiled, and nodded his head. He knew his parents would be proud of her as well. She had accomplished so much. He just wished they were here to see the birth of their grandchildren.
Everyone held little Chloe, even Bam, who didn't know how he was suppose to at first. After a couple of hours of visiting Zoey and Bam, along with Eva and Ape left the hospital. Zoey and Bam returned home feeling happy for Ryder.
"He's going to be a great dad." Bam said.
"He will be-- and you will be too." Zoey said smiling.
Bam grinned, as he reached over and placed a kiss on her lips. It was after eleven at night, and he knew she was probably wore out.
