Jenny Was a Friend of Mine

Stories and Cigarettes Ruined the Lives of Lesser

They found Jenny.

The police had arrived, busted down the door, and found a half-alive Jenny on the floor. She had been bound to a chair and her mouth taped shut, barely breathing. She couldn't even cry, she was so weak.

Mrs. Robertson had to be pulled away to keep from crushing her daughter in a mother's worried hug. No one had to pull me away. I had already sunk to my knees in angry, heartbroken, shocked tears. How could anyone be this horrible?

The paramedics carried Jenny away on a stretcher. Her glazed eyes met mine and blinked slowly. I stared into her, trying to see if the real Jenny was in there somewhere.

I only saw the skies behind her.

And again, I had to watch her go, not knowing if I would ever see my love again.

Yes, I made allusions to "Strange Condition" and to another song again. "She Had the World" by Panic at the Disco.
