Dujo Who: Journey's End.

Preludeish

The Dujo sat down on a cushion beside Courtney, prodding at the large beetle that was placed in front of him. The incense of the fortune-teller's lair was stifling but she had fled when Courtney destroyed the beetle's mind. It was a Time Beetle (or to give it is New Latin name, tempuras xestobium rufovillosum) and had radically changed a huge amount of time by changing Courtney's timeline. She had never met the Dujo or any of the companions she had met over those glorious months. Everything had changed. All that was left was death, destruction and fiction on the loose like half-mad dogs, biting at the ankles of the humans before sobbing in a corner. A world without the Dujo was unimaginable, really. Courtney remembered what happened in that parallel world, but it was fading but the overwhelming sense of inferiority stung.

"I'm nothing special." She ended up half-sighing. The Dujo looked up; removing the scalpel he was holding in his mouth. He grinned that same old smile.

"Yes you are, you're brilliant!" he said jocularly. Courtney felt better with this reassurance.

'He thought you were brilliant'

"She said that." Courtney muttered. The Dujo looked at her, worry starting to mate in his eyes.

"Who did?"

"That woman." Courtney replied.

"She never existed now." The Dujo said, dismissively. Courtney shook her head.

"No, but she said it was all worlds, every world. She said the darkness is coming, even here. " The Dujo stopped doing the post-mortem on the Time Beetle. He looked at her seriously, panicking about who was this mystery woman.

"Who was she?” The Dujo demanded

"I don't know.”

"What did she look like?"

"She was... short-haired." The Dujo leans forward, fear hitting every note.

"Courtney, what was her name?" he asked in a whirl. Courtney looked up, her eyes gleaming like a prophetess.

"But she told me, to warn you. She said two words... " She said, her voice spiralling into ethereal realms.

“What two words? What were they? What did she say?" The Dujo shouted - the urge to have the yes or no was getting too much.

"System Error... W-What does it mean? “Courtney asked, shaken by the Dujo's panic. Absolutely horrified, the Dujo runs out of the fortune teller's shop to see all writing translated: "System Error". Courtney follows him; shocked to see those two insignificant words splattered everywhere. The Dujo runs to his TARDIS, only to find that it too displays only the words "System Error". He enters the TARDIS, which is bathed in a red light and is ringing the 404 Bell.

"Doctor, what is it, what's System Error?!" Courtney yells. The Dujo turns around, fear in his eyes.

"It's the end of the universe." he laments softly.
