I Nick Jonas Hate the Bass Player

Two weeks had passed after Nick and I had been to D.C. The trial had finished and we were watching the decision on TV. The whole country was obsessed with this trial, not only Nowhere Nothing fans but older adults, parents and people in the industry were always talking.

Nick and I sat on the couch and watched closely as the picture scanned into the courtroom. I saw there was the defense attorneys for Paul or Mr. Wright, as the case is know to. Paul was the murdered who killed my best friend. The asshole, which took her from me and took her innocence. He's a monster…

I saw the defense attorney for the District of Columbia or Ryan's lawyer. I saw they did what I asked; they left a blank chair next to them. I asked them to leave it to remind them that she was gone; a person was physically never going to be there ever again. An innocent life of a girl who made a mistake with the wrong guy. The fact that my best friend was pregnant when she was killed angered me because that most likely was his motive…he wanted to get rid of the "thing" as he would put it and there was only one way. I remember Ryan always said that even if she wasn't ready to be a mom and it was an honest mistake, she'd step up and be a mom. Not like my case, with my rape…that was wrong and I think a lot of people agreed with me that what I did was right.

The judge came into the courtroom and we watched as everyone rose to honor the judge and then were seated. The time was filled with the review of the evidence and was making me so anxious.

"CAN WE GET TO THE FUCKING DECISION?" I yelled to the TV

Nick looked at me wide-eyed. I'm assumed I scared him a little.

"You ok?" he asked
"Anxious, that's all" I said

We turned back to the TV just in time to see the Judge say those 6 important words.

"Does the jury have a verdict?"
"Yes, your honor"

Nick and I held hands and we stared at the TV as the single juror stood up with a piece of yellow legal paper.

"We the Jury find the defendant Mr. Paul Wilson Wright not guilty for the charge of murder in the first degree, not guilty for the charge of rape and not guilty for the charge of battery." The juror said sitting down

I instantly stood up and threw the pillow on the couch across the room and broke the vase in the kitchen.

"HOW THE FUCK COULD THEY HAVE DONE THAT???"
"Laura, calm baby"
"NO NICK! MY BEST FRIEND WAS MURDERED BY THAT ASSHOLE ON TV AND HES WALKING AWAY A FREE MAN!" I said pissed
"I understand that, just take a deep breath" he said

I was on the verge of tears and I couldn't let him see that. I grabbed my shoes and the car keys off the island.

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" Nick asked
"NO WHERE!" I said then about to run out of the door

Nick ran in front of me and slammed the door, standing in front of it.

"You're not going anywhere no matter how angry you are" he said
"GET OUT OF MY FUCKING WAY!" I said
"Laura, stay clam, please?" he asked
"NO.." I said starting to cry
"MY BEST FRIEND DIED WITHOUT PEACE AND IS PROBABLY MISERABLE NOW BECAUSE OF THIS. I NEED TO COMFORT HER!!" I said

I hope you know that I meant not physically consult her, but just visit her. I needed to see her headstone and at least make sure that I'm not dreaming.

"You can't do this right now. Let's just sit down and talk it out ok?" he asked pleading
"Nick, why? What good is it going to do?" I asked
"It's going to show me you are ok being by yourself when I'm gone. It's going to show that you can make a rational decision about Ryan. Laura she's not coming back and to be blunt, you need to start getting your life back. You were good for a couple months then Bam, the craziness started again…" he said

He was right, I shouldn't be fighting with him and I needed to stop dealing with her. I needed to move on.

"Ok, let's sit and talk" I said

It's been 3 weeks since my break down and I'm doing a lot better. Well, you could say that but planning a wedding has made my head hurt.

"So it's how much for the cathedral?" I asked the planner
"$20,000" she said

My jaw hit the grown when I heard that. I'm sorry but that is way too much.

"We'll pay it. Whatever it takes" he said
"Nick, no! We will find somewhere else" I said
"Laura, you want the cathedral, I want the cathedral. Let's go for it!" he said
"Nick, you need to think about this" I said
"Here" Nick said handing the planner a check
"NICK!" I said as she got up and walked away
"What? I'm doing what we both want" he said
"Fine" I said sighing

We were sitting there waiting for the planner to come back when I remembered something very important.

"OH MY GOD!" I said
"What?" Nick asked
"I haven't picked out a dress and the wedding is in 3 weeks" I said
"Well, you need to do that. Go ahead and I'll finish up here and you go pick one out" he said
"Ok" I said kissing him and running out.

I immediately called Ali and told her to meet me at the nearest David's Bridal. When we both drove up she smiled at me.

"Oh, my greatest twin sister, I missed you" she said smiling
"I missed you more. It's been forever" I said
"I know and we're not letting that happen again" she said

I smiled and we both walked into the boutique.

"Welcome Ladies, I'm James and I can help you with anything you'd like today" he said
"Aww, well, my name is Laura and I'm getting married in 3 weeks and I need a dress" I said
"Oh so soon, well we must get to work. And who is this, your twin sister I'm assuming?" he asked
"Yes, we're twins" Ali said
"Even better" he said smiling

He pulled us both to the couches and mirrors.

"What's your sister's name gorgeous?" he asked
"Ali" I said
"Ok, I'll be right back"

From what I heard he told Ali to sit and wait until I was dressed in the dresses and he'd bring me out.

"So what style are you looking for?" he asked
"Strapless, beading, white and I want to wear white converses with my dress" I said
"Tennis shoes?" he asked
"Yeah, it's just my style…" I said embarrassed.
"No, its adorable" he said smiling

He ran to the back and came back with three dresses. We tried on dress one. When I looked at it, I felt like a mushroom upside down and it was too poufy for my likings.

James saw the look on my face and he just said

"Let's go show your sister" he said

When I walked out, Ali's eyes got HUGE and she looked like she was going to laugh. We all knew it wasn't me.

"Ali, do I need to even ask?" I said smiling
"HAHAHA, NO!" she said laughing

I smiled and walked into the room and changed into the second dress. I hated it, and obviously this guy wasn't listening to what I wanted. I walked out to Ali and she saw me come around the corner and she looked mad like I did.

"That dress it ugly!" Ali said
"Tell me about it" I whispered
"Fine, back to the room. I've got one more ladies…" he said

When I got back into the room I was scared to see what he had in store for me because the first two were train wrecks and I was really nervous about the whole thing. He opened the dress bag to show me the third dress. When I had it on he smiled wide. He ran out the door and then cam back in with a vail and placed it in my pony tail and laid the vail over my face.

"This is the one" he said smiling
"Let me show my sister" I said

I walked out to Ali and she didn't say a word, just kept her mouth open wide and smiled.
I stepped onto the podium and she looked at me through the mirrors.

"That's it" Ali said
"It is…" I said smiling

When I bought the dress I realized I didn't trust Nick with the dress so I hid it at Ali's house. I walked into the apartment and Nick was sitting on the couch watching a Yankees game and his feet up on the coffee table.

"Did you find a dress?" he asked
"Yeah" I said smiling
"Where is it?" he asked
"Hidden" I said smiling

He smiled and I ran and jumped on him lying on the couch. I lied on him and watched the Yankees hit a home run, but Nick didn't move surprisingly. I looked up at him to make sure he was ok, but he was looking down at me smiling.

"What's wrong?" I asked
"Nothing, I'm just thinking about how much I'm going to miss this and especially miss your smell" he said smelling my hair.
"Well I might just have a present for you when you go" I said
"I hope you do…"
"Because I can't go without you" he said smiling
"Well you'll find a way to do it for a year or two" I said
"I know but by then you might be running around with little Nick's or something and I'm not here to take care of them" he said
"Nick if we run into that problem, then we'll deal with it then. But right now, it's you and me and our wedding" I said
"Exactly!" he said smiling and kissing my head

We ended up falling asleep on the coach on each other. I woke up at what read 6:00 PM on the cable box and got up to go to the bathroom. When I came out Nick was up but heading for the bedroom. I followed him noticing he wanted to go to bed early tonight. So I followed him and we both were lying in bed holding each other looking up at the ceiling.

"Laura, do you ever think you and David were meant to be?" he asked
"At one point, yes, but now, never" I said
"I still think you are…" he said
"Nick, don't think like that." I said kissing his cheek
"Well, that's the way I feel you can't change that…" he said
"Ok, but know, I'm meant to be with you and not him. I love you more than anything in the world." I said kissing his cheek

He brought me closer to him, tight. Almost as if he was afraid of something taking me.

"Nick what's wrong?" I asked
"It's nothing" he said
"Nick tell me!" I said
"I was placed on special forces…"
