Peoms..

Stop Pushing

She was pushed,
Sent sprawling to the floor,
A friend came along smiling,
And picked her up,
Only to send her right back down,
Twice as hard.
She sobs,
Her hurt only showing on the inside,
A boy comes along,
He's handsome,
He stops,
He smiles at her,
Her heart melts,
He offers her a hand,
She lets him pull her to her feet,
Thinking Could he be the one,
The one I've waite for so long?
Just as she gets comfortable on her feet,
He laughs and sends her back to her hands and knees.
She crys,
But no one hears her,
That or they just don't care,
She tries to stand on her own,
But everytime she gets close to standing again,
She falls flat on her face again.
She thinks;
Maybe its foolishness to try again...
A few more people walk past her,
Some look at her disgusted,
Some pity her,
Here and there one offers her a hand,
She simply shrinks away,
Terrified to be shoved back to the floor,
One or two continue coaxing her,
Like the terrified animal she's become,
Come on they say,
We won't hurt you,
She inches forward,
Then cowers back,
Her fear over powering her,
And still they persist,
Slowly ever so slowly,
They gain her trust,
And inch by inch,
They lift her up,
Until she's on her feet once more,
Her eyes widen,
As she awaites,
The shove she knows will come,
And she wonders,
If this time the cold unforgiving ground,
Will be so kind as to swallow her up?
So far so good she thinks,
Walking causiously,
With her new found friends,
Ever awaiting the ineveitable fall...
