You only have this one-shot

I guess we're even

had my iPod in, not paying attention, while walking across the street.

I got shoved out of the way and she landed on top of me. She was like a feather.

“Are you alright?” she asked, worried.
“I-I-I’m fine. Are you alright?”
“Yeah I think.”
“Thank you so much.”
“Well I did my good deed for the day.” she said and got up. She stuck her hand out and pulled me up.

I’m not exactly the lightest hockey player.
She’s tough.

My name is Colton Orr.
My profession is hockey.
My team is the Rangers.

-New York Rangers-

“Wait, what’s your name?”
“Brooklyn Melrose.”
“I love your jersey.” I said. She had an Orr jersey on.
“You’re my favorite.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I’m an agitator and a fighter in hockey too.”
“How would you like to meet my boys?”
“I’d love to.”

Everyone on my team loved her, including me.

One day I came home and she wasn’t there. I wasn’t really worried, until the day passed and I hadn’t heard from her. This wasn’t like her.

I called the police and reported a missing person.

Name: Brooklyn Melrose
Height: 5’ 2”
Weight: 90 lbs
Eye color: Blue
Hair Color: Blonde

Two years had passed and we lost all hope of seeing her.

There was a knock on my door;;

I opened the door and there she stood.

“Rosie.” I said. That was my nickname for her.
“Colton.” she said and broke down into tears.
“I’m right here. What happened?”
“By you filing a missing persons report you save me.”
“I guess we’re even.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too Rosie, I love you too.”
