"How could you love me?" He whispered, quietly bringing his hands up to touch the burned part of his face, "You're the only one that has ever even given me a second glance, Rae," As he spoke he dropped his head to look down at his shoes, his hands still touching his face. I watched him as tears started to well up in his stunningly green eyes, realizing then how hard this must be for him. He was so different from everyone else in Little Falls, and it definitely didn't go unnoticed, "And you're the only one that I've ever really cared about. I just..." He paused for a moment, looking up at me as in to think about what he needed to say, "I just don't get you Rae."

A small smile appeared on my face as I took hold of his hands, "You know that I love you Connor," I returned, bringing his hands back down with mine, "I don't care about your burn, I don't know why I would." My voice was reassuring as I spoke, "I don't know how you couldn't get that." As I finished, I stood up on my toes, kissing his nose as he slowly returned my smile.
