Turn The Other Way

Brian looked at me, kind of judging my face to see how if I was gonna say more. I looked him in the eyes and then back down at my hands,

“Yeah, Shane... We were walking home from school, and I told him I wanted to stop at P&T to get cigarettes so we went through the alleys to get there faster, then we say a group of like four guys at the end of the alley” I sighed, almost not wanting to finish the story. Brian wrapped his arms around my waist, and pulled me closer. I sucked in some air and continued to talk

“And they started to walk past us, Shane gripped my hand as we got closer and the one was my boyfriend of the time, so Shane let my hand go, and I hugged Danny, but I didn’t know the guys he was with.. and I didn’t like them. They kept looking at Shane, they started to made faggot remarks and I told them to shut up. And the one, he had black long hair got in my face. And I pushed him, and he pushed me into the wall. And Shane yelled at him and tried to pull him off of me, but they other two guys and Danny all started to punch him, and kick him and Danny started to slam his head against the ground… and the blood started to come out.., and I was watching them do that, the guy with the black hair started to pull my jeans down,” I stopped to wipe the tears off my face and put my head against Brian’s shoulder and kept talking

“And he started to touch me, but I couldn’t fight back.. I was staring at Shane, and the blood and them laughing.. and that’s all I remember until I guess I passed out, because I woke up on the floor with my jeans still down and Shane laying there.. not moving..” I said and then looked at Brian, who had a look of what seemed like disgust and anger, but still sad. He pulled me as close as he could and moved his hands up and down my back trying to calm me down since I was crying pretty hard.
I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket, I pushed back a little bit from Brian and pulled my phone out, and saw that Elizabeth was calling me,

“Hello?”

“Dude, are you crying?” Liz asked

“No.. I was. Its fine. Why did you call?” I said while moving to sit on Brian’s lap

“Where are you guys? Me and Matt wanna leave” I heard Matt talking in he background

“We’ll be right there…” I said then hung up.

“We have to go find them, they want to leave..” I said while standing up and waiting for Brian, who grabbed my hand and kissed my forehead before we started to walk back to where everyone else was. I waved Liz and Matt over

“I’m gonna go grab Micka, shes going home with me” I said before letting go of Brians hand and walking over to my sister, And smiled at Micka.

“Ready chick!” I said while picking her up and putting her on my hip.

“Bye baby! Be good at Courtney’s house.” Amber said kissing Micka before handing me her bag.

“Bye seester” I said before walking back to Brian’s truck and opening the back door, throwing her bag in the trunk, and putting her on Matt’s lap.

“Put her in the middle and buckle her up please” I said before shutting the door and getting in the front seat. I looked over at Brian and smiled, trying to show him I was okay after telling him that story. Brian nodded and started the truck, And pulled out of the parking lot.

“BRI!” Micka screamed from the back seat

“Yes lil girl?” Brian said smiling and looking in the rear view mirror at her

“I loves you!” She said with a goofy smile

“I loves you too!” he said laughing a bit. That little girl was so easy to love. Brian drove down the road, and took my hand again I smiled at him. We pulled into the drive way, and Brian parked, let go of my hand and I got out, and waiting for Matt to get out so I could get Micka.

“WHOAA! Brian, your house is HUGE!” Micka said as I picked her up again. I laughed and walked up the stairs.
