Always and Forever

Chapter Twenty Two.

“Kevin is so hard to shop for,” Nina said in a frustrated tone as she began to go through another rack of clothing at the clothing store that we were at, “He likes so many different types of clothes that I don’t know how to choose just one.”

“I know how that goes,” Bailey said as she studied a brown button up shirt, “Also, they have so many clothes already, I’m afraid I’m going to buy Nick something that he already has.”

The three of us were shopping for the boys’ Valentine’s Day present; we waited until the last minute like always so we were all really frustrated. I already had my main present for Joe. I saved up the money that my parents gave me for my birthday to buy him a silver cross along with a matching silver chain. As a joke, though, I bought him a bright pink shirt that had my face on it. I was planning on giving it to him first, just to see his reaction. I also planned on getting up extra early to make him breakfast in bed.

“Didn’t you already tell me you that you bought Joe’s present?” Nina asked me curiously as she put a green scarf in the basket that she was pushing.

I nodded, “Yeah, but I wanted to come with you guys to buy him a few extra shirts and a pair of shoes,” I told her honestly as I looked at a really gorgeous purse, “Or maybe I wanted to buy myself this beautiful work of art.”

The two of them laughed at me as I threw the purse over my shoulder and glanced at myself in the mirror. I was extremely tempted to rush it to the register and buy it but I know Joe’s been complaining that he doesn’t have enough shoes, I swear, he’s worse than a girl when it came to things like that. It was actually pretty amusing sometimes.

We finished up our shopping then Nina and I dropped Bailey off at the Jonas’ household. We visited for awhile and then made our way back to our apartment complex.

“We’ll probably both be busy tomorrow,” Nina said as we stopped in the middle of our apartment complex, “So, I’m guessing we won’t be seeing much of each other.” We laughed together lightly.

I nodded, “That’s true, maybe we can all go out dinner the day after tomorrow, yeah?” I asked her as I put my keys into my purse.

“Yeah, sounds like a plan,” she said as she gave me a slight hug and smiled at me widely, “I hope I’m not pregnant by then.” She joked and I couldn’t help but laugh at her silliness.

We went our separate ways and I made my way to my apartment. I was just about to slide the key into the lock when Joe slipped out the door and closed it behind him.

“You can’t come in here yet,” he said as he looked at me with a straight face as he pressed his lips against mine quickly, “So, just wait out here until I come and get you.”

I groaned, “Why not?” I said as I kissed him back instantly and then I stared at him intensely, “What are you doing in there?”

“Nothing, I just have to put some stuff away,” he said innocently as I crossed my arms out in front of me, “So, just wait.” He went back into the apartment and I stood outside like a total idiot.

I pulled out my phone and began to send a tweet. Yes, I have in fact entered into the twitter world, thanks to Joe, Nick, Kevin, and all of their friends pressuring me. Paul even had a twitter, so I just eventually gave in.

So, I’m stuck outside of my apartment because @joejonas decided I couldn’t come inside yet. I think he’s up to no good. (:

I waited a couple of seconds and then I received a tweet. Nickjonas: @jeweljonas I know what he’s up to. (: Love ya, sister in law. :P

I decided to respond with @nickjonas you better tell me right now, mister! :P Jk! Love ya, too!

“Okay, I’m done,” Joe piped up as soon as he opened the door, “You can come in now, baby.” He had a content smile on his face, like if he accomplished something.

“Are you going to tell me what you were doing?” I asked him curiously as I made my way into our apartment and glanced around it to see if I could see it for myself, “Hmm, squeaky clean.”

“I’m not telling you anything,” he said as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me closer to him, “I’m a very good secret agent,” I laughed at his stupidity as he pressed his lips to mine sweetly, “What’s in the bags?”

Later that night the two of us got ready for bed like we did every night, “Did you take your vitamins?” Joe asked me curiously as I put my hair up in a messy bun, “You’re supposed to take them every night.”

I sighed and rolled my eyes, “Yes, Joe,” I said to him as I crawled into our bed and grabbed my phone, “I take them every night, are you taking your prenatal vitamins too?” I set my alarm for six A.M. so that I could wake up and make Joe his breakfast in bed that I had been planning on for a few days.

His eyes opened, “I’m supposed to take them too?” he said in complete shock as he ran his fingers through his hair nervously, “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME! OH MY GOD…wait…” he then glared at me as I began to laugh hysterically, “I don’t need those kinds of vitamins.”

“I can’t believe you fell for that,” I said as I set my phone on the night stand and watched him crawl into our bed next to me, “I mean, really? I didn’t know you were that dense, baby.”

“I’m not,” he said in a defensive tone as he wrapped his arms around my stomach and pulled me against his body, “I was just kidding, I was trying to make you laugh.”

I turned around so that we were facing each other and rolled my eyes, “Sure, buddy,” I said as I laughed lightly and ran my fingers through his hair as he smiled at me sweetly, “I love you.”

“I love you, too,” he said as he pressed his lips against mine gently and then he made a trail of kisses down to my neck, “I love you, tons and tons and tons,” I giggled as he continued to kiss me, “Want to celebrate Valentine’s Day early?” He wiggled his eyebrows in a suggestive way.

“No, we can save that for tomorrow night,” I said as I winked at him with a smile as he frowned, I pecked his lips sweetly, “Oh, don’t frown, I’m sure you’ll enjoy that part of tomorrow,” I winked at him then he kissed me back and sighed against my lips, “Goodnight, baby.”

“Goodnight,” he said as I laid my head against his chest and rubbed my back lightly, “Sweet dreams, keep them dry.” We snickered lightly and eventually drifted off into a peaceful sleep together.

“Rise and shine, beautiful,” I heard Joe’s voice sing into my ear, I honestly thought I was dreaming because I knew my alarm hadn’t gone off yet so I just laid there, “Come on, baby, wake up, look what I made for you,” I felt his lips being pressed to my neck sweetly as I smiled to myself before I opened my eyes to see him smiling down at me, “Good morning.”

“Morning,” I said as I stretched lazily, “Why in the world are you up right now? What time is it?”

“It’s eight o’clock,” he said with a content grin on his face and my eyes widened as I stood up, “I took it upon myself to turn off your alarm because I wanted to make you breakfast.”

I groaned, “Joe, I set my alarm because I wanted to make you breakfast,” I whined childishly as he laughed and kissed me gently, “I can’t believe you did that.” I crossed my arms out in front of me.

He smiled, “You always cook for me and I rarely do it for you,” he said honestly as he moved a strand of my hair out of my face, “Now up and at ‘em,” he announced, “Let’s get this romantic day started.”

Our Valentine’s Day was wonderful. It wasn’t anything extravagant and I liked that. I enjoyed the simple things such as staying in bed and cuddling with Joe all day. I could do that every day and be completely satisfied with life. He did, however, shower me with jewelry which, of course, I wasn’t going to deny because I was a girly girl when it came to that stuff. He was shocked when I gave him the pink shirt and tried to be as polite as possible, he said that he loved it about ten times before I gave in and gave him his real gift. We cooked dinner together but our dinner ended quickly because he was in a rush to get up to the bedroom.

The following afternoon I spent with Bailey and Nina, “How did your day go yesterday, girls?” I asked them curiously as I sipped my water and then took a bite out of my salad, “Anything interesting happen?”

Nina set her hands on the table and smiled, “Nothing really,” she said in an excited tone, I couldn’t help but be curious so I studied her intensely, maybe Kevin bought her some jewelry and I was supposed to notice, “What are you staring at, Jewel?”

“There’s something different about you,” I continued to study her and my eyes traveled up and down her body, “I can’t put my finger on it though,” I said truthfully and then it hit me, I looked down to her hands and there was a ring on her left ring finger, “OH MY GOD!”

Bailey jumped in her seat, “Shhh, you’re going to get us kicked out of here,” she said as she elbowed me lightly as she laughed.

“You’re engaged,” I got up and wrapped my arms around Nina’s body, “Congratulations, wow, I can’t believe it,” I said in an overjoyed tone, “I’m so going to kill Kevin, he said he would tell me first!”

I grabbed my phone and tweeted, @kevinjonas You’re so going to get it when I see you, you promised to tell me first! Congrats on the engagement though! Love you brother!

Just then Bailey and Nina’s phone went off, “Ugh, Jewel, we wanted to keep it a secret from the media for awhile,” Nina explained as she laughed lightly, “Oh well, and thanks for the congratulations, I can’t believe it either.”

“Wow, I feel out of the group, I’m the only one not engaged,” Bailey joked as we laughed with her, “Just kidding, I’m on seventeen, I’m not ready for that yet.”

“Nick isn’t allowed to get married until he’s twenty one,” I joked as we all laughed, “Nah, I’m sure the time will come, you guys are totally in love, it’s fate, just don’t jump into anything too soon, y’know? You both are still kids.”

“I’m not a kid,” Bailey said as she rolled her eyes as Nina and I laughed, “Maybe legally we are but whatever,” she laughed, “I’m patient, unlike you two that are jumping into the marriage car really quick.”

“What can we say,” I shrugged, “We’re in love.” Nina nodded her head in agreement.
