The Connection

Our little Secret

“So all we had to do is play music and you start to remember stuff?” Frankie asked, with much excitement. I turned to him blinking softly,

“Huh? Yeah, sure.” I wasn’t really listing to what he had to say, I was just trying to understand why Mikey would say that, “What if it’s better for you not to remember…” What would I know that would be better not to remember? I growled under my breath and got up suddenly, walking out of the studio.

“Where are you going?” Frankie asked, following me.

“To find Mikey.”

“Why?” He asked me in a child-like way. I raised an eyebrow,

“Because I need too,” I said to him angrily. I turned on my heal, trying to find him, “Mikey!” I cried, “Mikey where are you?” I stood there and screamed. Frankie sighed and walked away, I suppose he decided that he was no help. He was right; the only person that can help me right now is Mikey. What would be better for me not to remember? Had I killed someone? Hurt someone? Had someone done something awful to me? I rubbed my head and screamed his name once more,

“What the hell are you screaming for? People are trying to sleep.” I turned over my shoulder and saw that man from earlier,

“I need to find Mikey,” I said to him, walking closer to him, “Do you know where he went?” His hazel eyes looked at me and he smirked,

“He went for a drive, probably going to see Alicia, since she’s not aloud here.”

“Why not, Gerard?” I asked softly. Gerard…his name is Gerard.

“Gerard! I will not take this bullshit anymore!” I screamed at him. He laughed at me and pouted,

“C’mon, it’ll be fun. Don’t you like the zoo?”

“Not when I go with you…you always end up having to hide or run away from all the fucking fan girls,”

“I can’t believe we are arguing about the zoo. What do you want me to do, quit the band!”

“No” I screamed louder, and then I looked at the floor, “I just want…I don’t know what I want, whatever. I’ve got to go.” I turned on my heal and walked out of the door,

“Syd, c’mon. Don’t do this, I know your secret.” I took a deep breath in and turned around to look at him,

“How could you possibly know that?”

“People talk when they are drunk.”

“Hey! Sydney! Are you okay?” He asked me, waving his hand in my face. I blinked a few times and nodded,

“We argued about the zoo, and I was upset.” I muttered softly, I looked into his eyes, “Do I get upset with you often? Are we going out?” Gerard took a deep breath in and opened his mouth to say something, and then he closed his mouth and his eyes. Silence fell up on us, “Well, Gerard? Please answer me.”

“Sydney, hey! I’ve been looking for you.” Bob said from behind us. I turned around looking at him with ashamed eyes, “What were you two talking about?”

“Nothing,” We both said quickly, and then I walked to Bob and heard Gerard walk off. Bob raised a blond eyebrow and smirked,

“That didn’t seem like nothing,”

“It was nothing!” I yelled at him. His blue eyes looked at me sadly and I took a deep breath, “I’m sorry, Bob, it’s just I fell like I’m swimming in a pool and I’ve got nobody throwing a life jacket out me. I need help and nobody seems to want to tell me anything. Mikey and Gerard are acting strange,”

“You remember Gerard?” Bob said quizzically, I nodded gently,

“I remembered you first though, best friend!” I said smiling softly. Bob’s eyes got big as he hugged me tightly,

“This is very, very good!”

“Yes this is. And Gerard and I were good friends; we went to places a lot.”

“Oh.” He questioned, “Like where?”

“We were going to go to the zoo, but I got mad at him, then he…” I know your secret…

“Then he what?”

“I…I don’t remember,” I lied, looking down. Bob rubbed my back and smiled,

“Hey it’s okay, this is good progress. Very good progress.”

“Yeah,” I muttered, smiling back at him. I am so confused, Mikey does not want me to remember something and Gerard knows some secret of mine. Is the memory that Mikey doesn’t want me to know the same thing as the secret that Gerard knows. I smiled at Bob one last time before I walked away from him.
