What Ifs and Whatnots

I lived in a world of dreams, broken by sudden moments of pain, never alone but always solitary. Sometimes my dreams would speak to me; more often than not they were just blurred faces with distorted features that haunted my sight. But there was something more prominent than my pain and my fears. I was the knowledge of being watched by some evil, twisted, depraved thing that I couldn’t see. As I lay there the feeling never left my unstable conscious thought.

My body worked furiously night and day to try and combat the infection which had started to gnaw furiously at the unprotected flesh within me. With excruciating slowness it took over my body. It spread quickly through my body and I begged for the darkness that would relieve me of the constant pain. Finally my body gave out and I could see the darkness looming ever closer. I welcomed it; reached out for it, pleaded with it to come ever closer but the infection had yet to take over my stubborn soul, the soul that refused to allow me to slip away so easily. Riann was such a pain at times. So the infection turned on her, having conquered Arianna it gathered itself for the ultimate attack and Riann welcomed the new battle.
